H. S. '3 history in the way of projects. As Freshmen we introduced the ever-popular Pajama Basketball Game . As the year flew by and we became Sophomores we introduced the Powder Puff Football Game played among our own girls. As Juniors our Homecoming float took first prize and excitement reigned when class rings arrived. The Powder Puff Game was es- pecially exciting because we played the class of '58. As Seniors we've been extra-successful. The Washington trip of course was the climax of four wonderfully exciting years. We'll never forget nor will we ever truly leave behind the experieces we have felt. To all the underclassmen we say, So long and good luck. mammvg VtW: W 7WW' Hug a'. t- JWK+?1QV:GE45W. .4 ' ' .-. Jimmy Men of few words are the best men. CLASS SONG You'll Never Walk Alone CLASS FLOWER Yellow Rose CLASS MOTTO What you will be, you are now be- coming. CLASS POEM Irnpre ssions Was it four long years ago, Or was it only yesterday, That first our small uncertain steps Walked these hallowed halls this way? Is it a dream that we are here, Or that in reality we stand Eager to take that final step Eager to take the future's hand? It is no dream, our life here is through, The life that held us close for years, But, with us goes a spirit that Will bring a smile through parting tears. Seniors look back and trace that tear And once again be glad, For the wonderful days that together we lived Are many more than few that were sad. Remember the day we first arrived, How little we seemed and shy; The years have passed swiftly and here we are Saying to Ketterlinus a last goodbye. This year began so big for us, For it was to be our last; Another unforgettable year Another unforgettable class. At football games we cheered our team A winning game to play, But, win or lose we cheered them on, For that's the K Hi way. The dances, too were part of it, The plays, the honors won, Alone they seem like nothing - But, Together they were fun. There is one more thought before we go, One more word to say; We have a debt to our teachers - We can never hope to pay. So, thank you God, for a school like this That gave us a wonderful start; We'll remember your standards, and forever Keep that K impressed on our hearts. 75g ZQJIff We, the Senior Class of 1959, knowing of the tears and heartaches that will be suffered at our departure and also realizing the great loss to Ketterlinus High School, do declare this to be our last will and testament. We, RITA TART AND MARTHA STERCHI, being of unsound mind leave the editorship of the KETTLE to who- ever is fortunate enough to attain such a high honor. Tropgecy One day, sunny and warm, in 2001, Ann Batsel and Carol Eichholz, members of the Senior Class of 1959 chanced to meet at Russell's. They were very old, as time had passed them by quickly, and they were very curious as to what had happened to their classmates. As they were sitting on the stools, talking of old times and happenings, they saw a sign which read, Madam Zoola Sees All, Hears All, Knows All, Tells All, for only a quarter, 25 cents. They decided it would be worth a quarter to know the fate of their former friends, so they entered the mysterious tent of Madam Zoola. Here is the information they received from the fortunetelling lady and her crystal ball: PAT KNIGHT has recently received another boost to her morale. She hobbled off with the title, Grand- mother of 2001. ANN SASSER made a magnificent debut in the Broadway play, Macbeth. Now she's doing singing commercials for Skipper Al's TV show. TEDDY MEADE is now a nationally known come- dian. All he has to do is grin into a television camera; no lines to learn and NO work. Seems MARTHA STERCHI McELVEEN had a big blow; Martha and Richard's six sons joined the Navy instead of the Air Force. CHARLES PONCE after staying in Miss Alden's room for ten years, finally figured out why he never learned any English. He was studying from a Health book! JAY HEBER is now the proud owner of Heber Pencil Productions. To advertise his product, Jay has had his head shaved to a point. The great woman lover, JIMMY BATSEL, now owns a highly successful school in New York designed to teach the males the arts and wiles of wooing women. BRENDA OSGOOD finally got over being shy, and has taken Julia Mead's place advertising Lincolns. Famous scientist JOHN STEINER recently patented his latest in- vention - the noiseless telephone, made especially for people who don't have time to talk. LORAYNE FRANKLIN, who models eyelashes, can only see out of one eye. It seems that she made the fatal mis- take of sneezing and the eyelash got stuck. Athletic DOUGLAS MICKLER became the first six letter man on U of F campus by serving as waterboy on the football, baseball, track, and basketball and tiddly- winks team. CAROL McFEDERIES has finally graduated from Music College and is now teaching music in kindergarten. JUNE SKINNER LEWIS and a certain someone are pretty busy lately. I guess they didn't think the Air Force band was good enough, because now they are raising their own trombone section. LARRY TEAGUE chose basketball for a career. His position on the team is captain Icaptain of blowing up basketballs, that isl. RITA TART finally used her shorthand, but not for long. It seems that six- weeks after she landed a job as a secretary, she landed a boss. Pretty good salary, wouldn't you say? Flash! Famed Chemist WARREN CAPUTO has finally found the spoon he's been looking for. Looks like PENNY HECHT's is the biggest success story of all. Penny has just signed a contract with Yellowstone National Park. Seems they're going to use her mouth if Grand Canyon ever caves in. DWIGHT SMITH entered the local Shooting Contest recently, but was immediately disqualified. It was against the rules to shoot birds! On passing the old men's home we heard that R. L. and DAVID PETERSON had their teeth pulled and were advised to chew bubble gum to toughen their gums. Agriculture experts HUBERT SIKES and DAVID REDMAN have finally succeeded in cross-breeding a pig and chicken. The result was ham and eggs. KATHRYN BRYANT hasn't opened her mouth publicly for the past 20 years. Her husband, Larry Doyle, is an Air Force dentist, and he likes to use her for a practice dummy. LINDA NORTON is radiant after publishing her first book on Atomic Energy, called GONE FISSION. JEAN PELICONE, ELISE MATHEWS, and MURIEL MORRILL, are three prominent stars of the smash hit Pink Elephants. Think- ing of old friends brought ANNE BRADBURY to mind. Anne and Doug had finally married and settled down, but not for long, seems she caught her long brown hair in a mix-master and divorced Doug when he called her Baldy in public. DONALD McNABB, after traveling abroad for ten years, has returned to the U. S. and now has his own TV program called Julius Caesar Shall Rise Again. Someone was passing by MRS. PAT THURSTON PADGETT's house one day and was suddenly trampled by a dozen little Padgetts. It seems he didn't notice the sign on the gate which read Beware of Kids. ROBERT ARNETT recently signed up for the World Weight Lifting Contest. Poor Bobby! He misunderstood the rules and broke his leg trying to lift himself off the floor. Lovable nurse HOPE STABEL is driving her Supervisor mad. Hopie, who has developed a passion for blonde hair, has bleached the heads of every patient in the joint. JOANNE MECKSTROTH is working as a cigarette girl at the Jungle Club in Miami. She's still trying to hook that elusive rich boyfriend. PARKY McNAIR was acquitted of manslaughter on grounds of temporary insanity. It seems his poor victim offered him a job as a school teacher. HENDRA MAY and NANCY MULLIGAN have set up a lonely hearts club called The Haven for Homeless Hags. CHARLES WEICKING is seen whipping down U. 8. iii in his hot 15 h. p. Jeepster. Charles says, Cars I love, women I hate! SANDIE ANDERSON couldn't decide between David and Jamie and is now an :2 r'isiteelzt-zzrnnw-u vwvem nus . -- old-maid school teacher at KHS. Seems she took over when Miss Alden retired. HAROLD WEIDMAN has been Mayor of Magnolia Park for the past twenty years. During his term in office Magnolia Park has developed into a small metropolis total population: 99 people, 2 cats! After many years of faithful and hopeful practices PAT SEAMONS has finally reached her goal. She can now be seen on TV as The Marlboro Girl. EARLY WILKINS is seen in a side-show - he's quite bald-headed. Must have combed his hair too often! The President of the Jeffo Motorcycle Co. , PAUL JEFFS, announced that this year Jeffo outsold Chevies in the United States. HAROLD CHAPMAN has finally finished his college foot- ball career at Oglethorpe. After eight years of devoted service; the coaches decided they needed a new tackling dummy. All the movie stars imalei are crazy about ELIZABETH McCULLOUGH who is still uncertain as to whom she'll marry. DONNA JEAN COWART is a writer. She has been writing Raymond for the last ten years. She is now working on Page 9999 of her letter. Lightning fast WAYNE DAVIS has just set a new record. He can now pop 50 tiddly-winks per minute into a cup. Bashful, BETTE MANUCY, has broken the record for proposals - she has asked 250 men to marry her. tHas she got troubles! They all acceptedn MERRILL BATTEN and LOIS BUTLER are actively engaged in a quietest-person-on-earth contest. VIRGINIA COLLINS and SHIRLEY WESTBERRY are corporation sec- retaries working for Foster 8: Forrester Frankfurter Corp. owned by TOM FOSTER and KEN FORRESTFR. HERSCHEL CLEVELAND and GARY CARTER are running a pencil packing company and their best cus- tomer is RAYMOND RUSSELL - he's still working on Miss Nesbitt's Physics exam. Private secretary JANICE BENNETT has spent the last 20 years on her boss, DENNIS BENNETT's knee. tThis has proved to be quite an inconvenience for DennisJ LORETTA COHOON, PEGGY MERRITTS, and MARY REI- MER, recent graduates of U. of F. , just gave us a copy of her latest pamphlet that should prove to be helpful to all graduating high school Seniors, How to Finish College in Ten Easy Years. JUDY BEAL is the business minded one. She and Gene are married and they now have twelve little bank tellers. ANNE WOLFE, BARBARA SEARLES, and PAT JOHNSON and TOMMIE BRADDOCK are among those miss- ing. They were flying in Europe recently and were mistaken for propoganda leaflets and dropped out somewhere over Germany. VIRGINIA SPELL and SARA BOWDEN are now making a fortune with their jaws. They are being used in HOWARD THOMAS' science lab to demonstrate perpetual motion. I . H. HALL and TOMMY SMIRCH, expert engineers, have finally struck it rich with their new machine for making square doughnut holes. CHARLOTTE ALLEN is modeling her clothes at Nauright's Dress Shop for the Atomic Age. U.N. delegate, I. MICHAEL BUTCH GOLD is famous for his reaction to the latest Russian charge against the U. S. , the international sign of disapproval known as giving them the bird! Atomic expert, HUGH C. MAXWELL, has perfected the ultimate in atomic weapons, the atomic peashooter. Famed chemists PHILIP COLEE and DAVID REDMON have just invented a new type of cats synthetically. They were tired of paying ten dollars a week for food for the horses in their stables. CARRIANNE SIMMONS has become a famous model, working in New York for a beauty school owned and operated by BETTY PASTORE and JUDY REED. PHILLIP WHITLEY has become world-renowned for his photos of models BEBE CONNOLLY and BARBARA RANDALL. WARREN CAPUTO has finally dis- covered the famous spoon he has been looking for, for so long. We see HAROLD PAYNE is still arguing with Coach Hendrix in 4th Period health. We find JANICE STEWART still roaming about in the grave- yard. GEORGIA GELALLAS is chief saleslady in Georgia's GALOSHA SHOP. How's business, Georgia? As time drew near for us to leave Madame Zoola's establishment, and we were discussing old times, we soon discovered the true identity of Madame Zoola - none other than our own beloved MRS. TAYLOR. We also discovered her chief assistant to be none other than MISS CAROL BRADFORD. We were most elegantly shown to the door by their refined butler whom we readily recognized as our old Senior Class sponsor MR. GLEN TAYLOR, whom we will all temenber by those famous last words, I, PERSONALLY, will see that none of you go to Washington! We sold more magazines than any pre- vious class in Ketterlinus. We had a number of profitable cake and candy sales, and we also did very well on our cookie sale. During Homecoming we were very proud indeed when our float came in first place. This was because we had so many hard workers on the float committee. Probably the most exciting events of this year were the arrival of our class rings and the wonderful Junior-Senior Prom.
