Nursing, as a science, focuses on both the well being of both patient and family and on the technical skills of the nurse practitioner. Nursing in- volves not simply medical skills, but also decision making, evaluating, supporting, understanding, and most of all, caring and just being there. In a field that has increasing knowledge, improved concepts and proce- dures that are making those once learned obsolete, it is essential for the nurse to be flexible and constantly acquiring new knowledge.
