48 The Clinical Dietetic Technician works supportively with the Registered Dietitian to provide nutritional care for patients. Visiting these patients, and preparing individualized diet plans for them, provide an opportunity to combine an interest in the sciences with a people-oriented profession. Approved by the American Dietetic Association, the Dietetic Techni- cian program at KCMA provides the student with a marketable skill after two years of study.

The Biomedical Electronics Technition, or BMET, is an individual knowledgeable in the theory of operation, the underlying physiological principles, and safe, practical, clinical application of biomedical equip- ment. Because of the widespread development and usage of this complex equipment, the BMET has become a vital member of the modern medical team. BMET students are continually informed of new developments in their rapidly changing field. Their practicum includes work experience in sever- al types of BMET departments. This training program allows the BMET student to better prepare for future employment. 47
