Dedlearion Mr. Ernest Curtis, a hard working , and sincere custodian and bus driver who served Kerman High for seven years, de- cided this was a good year to retire. He moved to Exeter dur- ing the Christmas Holidays. A farm in Lewisville, Texas 20 miles from Dallas was Mr. Curtis' birthplace. He moved to Oklahoma at age 19. He met his wife Marie while they were plowing in opposite fields. He drove a street car in Oklahoma City for one-fourth of his life and then moved West to California. Since then he has had four boys and a girl and became an enthusiastic participant in the Methodist Church, enjoys Christian books, and taught a church class. Mr. Curtis' interest in large vehicles provided him with the knack to run them with capable and careful hands. He spent many hours at Kerman High and made good use of his free time by canal fishing and glass cutting. Mr. Curtis' character around school was gentile and quiet. He was a steady and conscientious worker. He never hesitated to smile and say hello and will be remembered by all who knew him. The Yearbook Staff proudly dedicates this annual to Mr. Curtis and warmly thanks him for all his kindness. .., s . x'?A Every day has been so slzorf, Every lrour so lleeflng.
