I 971 Dedication Mrs. Georgia Gumz ss, The year book staff would like to dedicate this annual to Mrs. Georgia Gumz in appreciation for her effort and time spent helping us. This is the last year we will see Mrs. Gumz smiling and greeting those who walk by the office. She has worked at the school for 21 years, and after all these years of dedicated service, she is retiring. Mrs. Gumz was born April 11, 1909, on a farm in Uncas, Oklahoma. She attended the Vinland School in Kerman from the first to third grade. Mrs. Gumz spent her high school years at Arkansas City High School. She also attended the Winfield, Kansas Business College. In 1950, Mrs. Gumz began to work in the cafeteria on the old KUHS campus. She became the attendance clerk in 1951 and has been clerk ever since. She has served under seven different administrators during her years of service. We thank you Mrs. Gumz, for your enthusiasm and willingness to help everyone. Your cheerfulness and understanding made all of us dependent upon you.
