The Junior Varsity team start d the 1950 51 season with many new faces and much hope Under the excellent supervision of Coach Hamlin they quickly started to shape up into a promising squad Despite this fact, the boys soon learned how to take defeat with a smile They knew that each game was another chance to show their worth and so, they played each game for itself It must be realized that on the whole, they were greatly out classed by their opponents and the schools they represented Several of the Jayvee players progressed rapidly to the Varsity squa after proving their worth Next season should prove a huge success after the fine experience of this one SCORES Ellenville New Paltz Highland Saugerties Wallkill Otisville Marlboro New Paltz Otisville Highland Saugerties Wallkill Marlboro Grahamsville ! Last fall, before a student assembly, six girls were chosen to be Varsity Cheerleaders for the year 1950 During the football season they more blue wool skirts lined in white and were decorated with a white K Heavy blue wool sveaters with white dickeys completed the en semble New uniforms were chosen for basketb 11 season They were one piece corduroy dresses that were real short A snappy mandarin collar with white c ffs and criss cross ribbon added the finishing touches to the uniform which was definitely the new style On March 10th the Varsity Cheerleaders, along with Mrs Decker and Mrs Crose, attended the Mid Hudson Cheerleading Conference at Wallkill The results of the judging sheets were very good and some of them ven tured to guess their placement about Nth The Cheerleaders have had a very successful year under their ad visors Mrs Dec! r nd Miss Pinckney, who were so understarding and 9 gf X This years Jay Vee Cheerleading squad turned out for their first game looking real snappy Due to the fact that the uniforms are to be used for three years instead of one they had picked a very versatile, but neat looking outfit consisting of a long sleeve white blouse and a short, full skirted, blue corduroy Jumper In order to help pay for these the squad sponsored a successful food sale and several enjoyable noon time movies Working very hard they used new cheers and motions, pepping up both the team and the spectators All in all this must be considered a very good year for the girls l patient w11:n'the11l many mistakes. ,Q KK 4 -X: f ,X f If
