The autumn of '47 found twenty three wide eyed adventurous stu dents piling back stage into Room 10 'Thunder in the valley' soon roared forth only to be quieted by Miss Speciner, our homeroom teacher She soon thought we should occupy ourselves with something worth while Thus was born a Talent Show followed by a Leap Year Party Two finan cial successes which made our class trip to Palisades Park possible Our Sophomore Year was less he Lic perhaps because we were ad apted more, to high school life or maybe it was due to our new ad visor Mr Hamlin This year we were cramped for money agaln Trips to the Avalon Roller Rink, several Juke Box dances, and a Spaghetti Supper were all sponsored by us Once more we completed our year by a gay jaunt to New Jersey and Palisades Amusement Park As the Jolly Juniors we were sure to be a success this was next to our biggest year in high school With congenial Mr Hamlin's Hui dance, we attempt d new and bigger adventures First there w s a Christmas Ball, then the Jr -Sr Prom, and Jr -Sr Carnival, all high many years that a play had been presented in Kerhonkson It turned out to be our largest success of the year In order to save for a longer and better class trip as Seniors, we had a small class picnic at Tillson Lake For our final, and most eventful year, as the Sophisticated Se niors, our events were more widely spread with Mr Hamlin to back us up and give us help The Lion's Club made it possible for us to visit the United Nations at Lake Succe s a most enjoyed privilege Soon after we came out oh top in the school wide magazine drive winning a radio Then, with the help of Mr Knoller and t e Music Department, we produced a very successful Minstrel Show also a first for Kerhonk son in a long time As a follow up from our Sophomore Year, we gave a delicious Spaghetti Supper another hit Then, as square dancing seemed the rave, we sponsored a square dance raffling off our radio at the same time, to bring more money into our treasury In March the complete class was invited to New Paltz State Teachers College where they enjoyed a performance by the famous Westmihst Choir another fine experience April saw another of our dramatic successes when we put on another three act comedy HA Case of Springtimen We completed our year and our high school days with the annual Prom, Carnival, Council Fires, and, GRADUATION! Al Boyle leaves all of his ability to play football and basketball to John Nuss! Pat De Pew leaves her cheerleading uniform to Bea Booth! Duane Van Etten leaves the athletic equipment in the hands of Otis Smith' Joan Dale transplants her echo in the corridors for Mr Riegel to follow and a roll of scotch tape for some other unfortunate! Charles Green wills his quiet reserved ways to Richard Burgraff!!! Benson Hilgers leaves his Caruso voice to Duzzy McGuffey! Carol Berenbaum wills her mannerly ways to Dawn Devine'l Helene Santagata leaves all her school books to a to start the morning fires!!! Joe Whitten leaves his Valentino technioue to Bobbie Barley!! Alyce Stone transplants part of her spirit in the Press Office to haunt future staffs!!! Jim wynkoop wills his ability to be early for scrool to Cl1'f Ma kle!!
