FOREWORD As editor of the 1964 BOBCAT, I would like to thank each member of the annual staff who worked on the preparation of the annual. To Mrs. Bennett and Mr. and Mrs. Coffey, the staff and I would like to express our gratitude for their invaluable guidance and ad- vice. I also thank the advertisers for their unselfish financial support and to the many solicitors who worked so diligently. All activities cannot be revealed between these covers, but we of the annual staff hope that the happiness, achievement, fulfillment, and harmony of the past year have been aptly reproduced in such a way as to provide many cherished memories. fflcalfaev Brenda Wallace Editor TABLE OF CONTENTS Dedication Administrators School Board Principals Faculty Classes Favorites Organizations School Life Advertisements 2 Life in Kerens High School This is daily life in Kerens High School. It is the Administrators and the teachers. It is the students engaging in the constructive hum of classroom activity, in the rush between classes, in a hasty lunch, and back to school for noontime chit-chat. It is the organizational activities: Band, Kerenettes, F.H.A., F.H.A., Choir, Clubs, Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track. And it is the wordless extras that form our school spirit: courage in defeat, pride in victory, warmth of a quick smile and a cheery Hi , The sharing of each other's happiness. The pensiveness of transitory disappoint ments, the dignity of deserved praise. Frequently ' ' ' her, then finding today's experience a rigid teac ' ise of tomorrow-- If remembering the prom God be willing. 3 We, the Annual Staff of 1965, would like to take this oppor tunity to express our gratitude to Mrs. L. M. Bennett. She has taught English and Math here a number of years. For the last two years, she has served as an advisor on the annual staff. To the students of Kerens High School, she is more than a teacherg she is a dependable friend. By dedicating this annual to Mrs. Bennett, the students ex- press their love and appreciation to her. 4 22, It is indeed a privilege, through this yearbook, to extend my personal congratulations to the Sponsors, staff, Faculty, and Student Body. It is the sincere desire of the School Board, the School Admin- istration, and the Faculty that each member of the Student Body will continue to uphold the high ideals of our School, and that eac of you will become good Citizens of our Community and Nation. We know that you will. Your friend, A. G. Godley. Jr. 5 h 43 Dear Students: May I extend to each student, to each teacher, and to each school employee, my sincere thanks for helping to make this a very pleasant and successful school year. The annual staff through this publication has made it possible for each of us in future years to recall the chall- enges of our academic curriculum, to share the highlights of extra curricular life during the 1964-65 school year. Congratulations to the Bobcat staff for a job well done. To those who are leaving us, and to those of you who will be returning, we hope our faculty at Kerens High has been of assistance in helping you develop your abili- ties to the extent that you will be able to satisfy all of your needs in a manner that will be both pleasant and re- warding. It is a pleasure to have each of you as a friend and to serve as principal of your school. My best wishes follow each of you in the years ahead. Sincerely, Char les R. Coffey U e aihlf To the teachers and students that are responsible each year for bringing us our book of school memories, I wish to express my appreciation for a job that is always well accomplished. To our seniors that will be leaving our school to fur- ther their education, it is my sincere hope that you will maintain the fine principles and high moral standards that have been such credit to our school. In the future may you and your work be of such qual- ity that you will continue to be an example for others to follow as a student, citizen, and good American.
