Subsequent tours of duty included Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron TWELVE, Commander Destroyer Develop- ment Oroup TWO, USS FRED T. BERRY CDDOSSD USS SAN MARCOS CLSDZSJ, Office of the Secretary of Defense and serving as Assistant Deputy Director on the military committee of tbe International Rlanning Staff of the North Atlantic Treaty Organiza- tion, where was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal for outstanding per- formance of duty. l-le reported aboard USS KERRLER AS Executive Officer in Decem- ber of Woo, vvbile the KERRLER was on deployment in Soutlw East Asia as a unit of the Seventb Fleet. LDCR McOuesten is married to the former Rutb E. THE SKIPPER E, 1 Dwight Wadsworth COMMANDER, U.S. NAVY CDR Wadsworth, a Connecticut Yankee, graduated with the class of l947 and commenced a three year sea duty tour on USS TAUSSIG KDD-746l, serving in all departments. He has served as Anti sub- marine, and Asst. Gun- nery Officer in USS BASILONE CDD-824l. Asst. Anti aircraft Bat- tery Officer in USS LAKE Cl-IAMFJLAIN CCVS-39l, Fire control Officer in USS CAN- BERRA CCAG-2l, Ex- ecutive Officer in USS GAINARD QDD-706I and as Weapons Officer in USS SPRINGFIELD QCLG-7l. In l954, he earned his Master's degree in Industrial Engineering at Purdue University. I-Ie has also attendedthe Naval Ordnance School in Washington and the Naval War College. Other shore duty assign- ments were with the ORNAV STAFF and Naval Ordnance Systems Command. On 2 August, IQ66, he relieved the acting Commanding Officer, LCDR .John Kuncas,USN and entered into a cap- taincy which will always live fondly in the mem- ories of those who have served under him.
