THE SKIPPER E, 1 Dwight Wadsworth COMMANDER, U.S. NAVY CDR Wadsworth, a Connecticut Yankee, graduated with the class of l947 and commenced a three year sea duty tour on USS TAUSSIG KDD-746l, serving in all departments. He has served as Anti sub- marine, and Asst. Gun- nery Officer in USS BASILONE CDD-824l. Asst. Anti aircraft Bat- tery Officer in USS LAKE Cl-IAMFJLAIN CCVS-39l, Fire control Officer in USS CAN- BERRA CCAG-2l, Ex- ecutive Officer in USS GAINARD QDD-706I and as Weapons Officer in USS SPRINGFIELD QCLG-7l. In l954, he earned his Master's degree in Industrial Engineering at Purdue University. I-Ie has also attendedthe Naval Ordnance School in Washington and the Naval War College. Other shore duty assign- ments were with the ORNAV STAFF and Naval Ordnance Systems Command. On 2 August, IQ66, he relieved the acting Commanding Officer, LCDR .John Kuncas,USN and entered into a cap- taincy which will always live fondly in the mem- ories of those who have served under him.
