AN OLD TIN CAN You've heard the story, of the Green Beret? And how they fight, both night and day. But, have you heard the one, by the sea-worthy man, who serves his country on an Old Tin Can ? She protects our oceans, and guards them well, the sea is her home, so this I'll tell that if it weren't for her, you'd lose your land, So give some credit, to an Old Tin Can . Our ship, the KEPPLER, that's her name, already known, in Korea, for her fame, Now she's ready, for duty in South Viet-nam, and by God, she's ready, cause she's a proud Tin C Always on time, she's never been late she's a helluva ship, ask any ship-mate. From battle to battle, she's never ran proud to be called, an Old Tin Can . From her Skipper, on down, we're a Helluva crew we'll keep her on sailin', and that we Can Do . Snipes, deck-apes, cooks, and the like- we'll prove in Viet-nam, that we can fight- To honor her name, from a brave young man that she's worthy to be called, an Old Tin Can . Then from the battle, to Newport, we'll go our iob finished, no more of the foe.
