I lu: Grand and l'etit 'l rtanon the Chau ru and the park are really worth stttng, but tht tourist's interest tulnnnates, perhaps, in the Galleries Des Qlaces, a tnost sumptuous room, in which XYil- ham ol Prussia was prot'l'unu-d Imperor of Germany fl2'lTlj, and in which on lune 28th, lfllfl, was signed the Treaty of Versailles. TOUR OF SYVITZERLAND On 9 March, :t touring party of Keppler sail- ors left for Switzerland, Leaving Villefranche shortly after eight in the morning, we found our- selves traveling along the Var River, twisting and turning, and slowly climbing the passes of the French Alps. After a short stop for lunch in the French City of Digne. we were on our way again. Soon after leaving Digne we could see Mount Blanc, which is the highest point on the Euro- pean continent. That evening in Geneva we were able to see a little of the night life of the inter- national city. Here at last at our destination we were wel- coined by the friendly hospitality of the Swiss people and treated to an excellent dinner. After slipper small groups left to explore what Grindel- wald had to offer in the way of night Sptiti Some went to the Rendeu'ous where they listened to good American music and danced, while others stayed in the hotel for a quiet evening. Our last night in cil'llL'Y2l we took advantage of our last taste of Switferland. 'lihose who were able to walk reasonably well after their skiing ex- periences went out on the town. But mans' of us nursing our aches and bruises, took hot baths and hit the sack, The next morning, tired but well-satisfied 'with our short stay in Switzerland we headed hack to Nice, loaded with Swiss chocolate. tuekoo clocks, and a wonderful impression of the Swiss people and their beautiful country.
