VAN T. EDSALI., LTIIC. USN R, Supply Officer. Enlisted in U. S. Marine Corps in ISI-II and re- ceived boot training at I'aris Island, South Caro- lina. Discharged in Hilti and attended New Mexico University: majoring in Business Admin- istration he received a B.A. He worked for Atomic Energy Commission. Receiving a direct connnission in the Navy he came on active duty in IIISI and was sent to Supply Corps School at Bayonne, New -Iersey. After cotnplelion of School he served in the Pacific aboard the AKA 59. Re- ported aboard the lx'epj1I1'r in October, 1953. DONALD R. BONNEY, LTJC, USNR, Main PropulsionOfficer. Upon graduating from Mattie Maritime Academy in IIISII, Mr. Bonney received a B.S. Degree in Marine Maintenance and a Third Assistant Engineer's license in steam and motor. A veteran of three years in the Merchant Marine, Ile spent one year in the Far East includ- ing four months in Korean waters. Serving as Third Assistant Engitteer aboard the SS African Patrol enroute from -Iapan to Korea, his ship was hit hard by a typhoon causing it to arrive at Inchon four days after the invasion, after having traveled around the world. In September, I953. he reported aboard the Kejljiler for duty. BLAINE C. CURRY, LTIG, USNR, CIC Officer. Mr. Curry received a B.S. Degree in Commerce when he graduated from Grove City College, Grove City, Pennsylvania, in june, l95l. He then applied for Officer Candidate School. and was ac- cepted. Upon graduating in May, 1952. he was ordered to report to the Keppler and did so in june of 1952. MORRIS POI.I.AK, LT-IG, USN, First Lieuten- ant. In I9-I5-IIH6 he was attending Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. The next year he enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Myer, Virginia, as a member of the 703rd Military Po- lice Battalion. designated as the Presidential Honor and Security Guard. In -Ianuarv, I9-48, Mr. Pollak received a Congressional appointment to the Naval Academy. He graduated in the class of I952 and was assigned to the Kepplcr' reporting aboard in July l952. He serves now as lst Lieu- tenant and Fire Control Officer. ARTHUR -IUDSON, LTJG, ASIV Officer. At- tended Dartmouth College and graduated in -Iune of I952 with an A.B. in Economics. XVhile at Dartmouth Mr. Ajudson was enrolled in the NROTC Prograin. Upon his graduation he re- ceived a Reserve Commission as an Ensign and he reported aboard the IXIKPPIU7' in june, 1952. AIOE H. IVARD, ENS, USNR, Assistant CIC and Assistant O Division Officer. Mr. IVard attended Texas Christian University where he received training in the Marines as part of the Marine Reserve Ofhcers Training Progratn. Crad- uating in l953 he attended Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, and was as- signed to flight training at Pensacola until Octo- ber, I953, reporting aboard the Keppler later that month. ROBERT MeCEE, ENS, USN, Communica- tions Officer. Attended Princeton University where he majored in English, graduating with an A.B. Degree in june, l953. Mr. McGee was a member of the soccer ICZIIII and of Prospect Club. He received his connnission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, and reported aboard the Keppler immediately after graduation. EDXVIN A. BIRKHIMER, ENS, USN, Assistant Fire Control Officer. Attended University of Illi- nois, majoring in Chemical Engineering, attain- ing and graduating in l953 with a B.S. XVhile at school he was a Naval Reserve Officer Training student and upon graduating reported aboard the Kepplcr. JAMES A. RYAN, ENS, USNR, Torpedo OfHcer. Attended New York Merchant Marine Academy, Fort Schuyler. New York, and graduated in june, I953. Received orders to active duty and repor- ted to the Keppler while the ship was in Boston for overhaul. Serves now as 2nd Division Officer and Assistant lst Lieutenant. SALVATORE XV. GIGLIO, ENS, USNR, Elec- tronics Offtcer. In june, I953, upon graduation from Boston College, where he participated in the Reserve Officer Training Course program, Mr. Giglio received his commission in the U. S. Navy. He was ordered to the U. Navy Elec- tronics Maintenance School at Treasure Island, California. Upon successfully completing the course of instruction he received orders to report to the Keppler, doing so on 23 November, 1955. JOHN E. DAVIS, ENS, USNR, Electrician Of- ficer. Attended Lafayette College in Pennsylva- nia, graduating in the class of 1953. He attended Officer Candidate School at Newport, Rhode Island and reported aboard 23 November, I953. RICHARD FENTON, ENS, USNR, Air De- fense Offieer. XVhile attending Middlebury Col- lege in Vermont, Mr. Fenton majored in Eco- nomics and was a member and officer of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Mr. Fenton was a member of the Track, LaCross and Intercollegiate Sailing Teams, graduating in -Iune, I953. Attended Officer Candidate School at Newport, Rhode Island.
