THE COMMENT' 23 Gut Vision A breath from a field of clover Kissed by the sinking sun, And from the marsh calls a ployer Just as the day is done. A mellow voice, a tender hand, A merry laugh that rings, A sky of rose o'er all the land Tell of a world that sings. An angry wind and sullen sky O'er rocks drear, stern and cold, A sea that leaps when the storm is high A flock that is far from its fold. Gray mist and rain and bitter tears Of empty hearts and sad, Soldiers of youth upon a bier Tell of a World gone mad. All life for some is joyous dreams And laughter, glad and gay, Tinkling adown the pale moonbeams As fairies trip in play. They live for pleasure and delight, i A For frolic, fun and mirth, With ne'er a thot of falling night Nor sorrow on this earth.

THE COMMENT For some 'tis sadness, pain, and tears, .Harsh toil from morn till eveg All days are dim, and dark, and dread- They sit apart and grieve. They live always uncomforted, Forsaken and alone, V YVi'th ne'er a thot of living dead, Nor joy come to its own. Shall ours a life of laughter be, Untouched by another's Woe? Shall weijust pleasure see, Nor pay the debt we owe? The world needs men and women strong And ready for the fight, To aid the weak, to right' the wrong, To crush the arm of might. Gur duty, then We must perform, And ever choose the right, And battle forth amidst the storm, To face the call of life. Then let us meet our task, our debt, Nor fail to pay the price Till We learn e'r life's sunset To serve and sacrihce.
