On the arrival of the Mikado, Ko-Ko has Pooh- Bah make a false affidavit that Nanki-Poo has been executed, bidding Nanki-Poo and Ko-Ko to leave Titipu. Thinking the Mikado's visit is to assure the execution, Ko-Ko presents the false affidavit. CThe Mikado has come, by the Katisha's wish, in search of his son.D When the Mikado finds that his son has been executed, Ko-Ko and his ac- complices are declared guilty of Hcompassing the death of the Heir Apparent. They admit their falsehoods, Ko-Ko offers to marry Katisha to pre- vent the execution of Yum-Yum and Nanki-Poo. The Great Mikado Climperor of Japanl comes to the small town of Titipu accompanied by Katisha in search of the Prince vvho has fled the palace and is now disguised as a wandering minstrel. Ko-Ko, Pitti Sing, Pooh Bah, Yum Yum, Pish Tush, and Peep-Bo look on. Ko-Ko asks Katasha to marry him but is scorned because of her love for Nanki-Poo. .lb
