All candidates must tryout, except the returning veterans. Each girl has to lead two cheers and is required to perform a straight jump, arch jump and spread eagle. They also are tested on their tumbling ability by doing a cartwheel, forward roll and splits. The primary function of the squad is to boost Panther spirit at home basketball games. The cheerleaders accompany the basketball team to many nearby games. The 1966-67 squad consists of Nancy Alexander, Del Marie France, Pat Hardesty, Marilynn Holt, Sara Ann Ireland, Lynne Romer, and Jane Strong. Kirk F etters and David Trunnel assist the cheerleading squad. I TW!
