Philosophy In 1842, the General assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky appropriated money for the establishment of a school to educate blind children. With the exception of a few months during the Civil War, the Kentucky School for the Blind has been in continuous operation since that time. The philosophy of the school has always been to offer educational opportunities to all students to enable each one to enjoy a rich, full life. It is our desire to impart to the readers of this yearbook the good wishes of the student body and staff by recording through word and photograph the activities and accomplishments of the 1977-78 school year.
