M. I. Basketball team beat St. Matthews, 34 to 19. 10-Dr. I. S. Long gave an interesting lecture on chemistry in the Gymnasium. ll-The trick drill platoon went into action today. I 12-Captain Davis is ill with the flu, 13-Cadet Wilson's father arrived to take him home. Was Rufus happy? 14--Christmas vacation began, and by noon the entire campus was deserted. OUR WINTER HOME 3-We were off to Florida. 4-We arrived at our winter home about six o'clock in the evening. 5-Everybody got sunburned. 6-Colonel gave a talk on health habits in Florida. Everyone loves the sulphur water. 7-Football team practiced at night for the big game with Sarasota. 8-The first matinee of the year was held in the Venice Theatre. 9-Another extremely hot day in the desert. Colonel urges more exercise. 10-Captain Carter was given a football by the team. We beat the Sailors 25 to 6, and Polly Stinson was chosen Celery Queen. A big dayl ll-Everyone enjoyed Annie Oakley. 12-Our first parade in Florida went off exceptionally well. 13-The boys spent the day accumulating sunburn. 14-Basketball practice began on our new court. 15-Rain, rain go away and come again on parade day. 16-Sergeant Quade didn't stick anyone today. Will miracles never cease? 17-Somebody cut the flagpole rope. Sergeant stuck everybody. 18-Prichard went A.W.O.L 19-Some practical joker blew first call an hour and a half early. The culprit remained uncaught. 20-Markle and Hobson made the day a complete success by catching a huge rattlesnake. 21-Basketball team defeated Tampa College High School 31 to 7. Z2-Skeeter didn't go to the hospital this morning. 23-A few of the industrious studied all night for examinations. Mighty few. 24-Examinations started today. ls everybody happy? 25-Basketball team defeated Florida Military Academy by 75 to 10. The trip was made a success when the bus ran out of gas on the way home. 26-Dr. Rock spoke in chapel for the last time. 27-The first of many rainy Mondays. Some studied for examinations. 28-Smith was stuck for inattention at drill. He was wondering when that letter was going to come. 29--Combat problems were inaugurated with everybody on the lookout for rattlesnakes. 30-Walther missed seeing Polly for the first time.
