W., decorated in lk! ,i ' Sig lt cornstallcs and autumn leaves and dimly lighted by jack- lg it o'-lanterns, was thi-onged with wefrcl masked beings. Each masquerader, accompanied by a college boy, passed through a chamber of horrors. The path led up and down- stairs, into the swimming pool, on which horrible objects floated, and through a place Filled with icy-Fingered ghosts. After getting back to the more civilized gymnasium there was a general unmaslcing. Then everyone joined in suitable games and a little Halloween program was carried out. Refreshments of popcorn balls, gingerbread, and cider were served, and everyone had a good time. Page seventy-four

Reception ' 'iijfi-N- Lgf of Kentucky College for Women overshadowed all previous receptions of ix . Al this k'nd. The awes and thrills of the girls from the time they entered li! the walls of K. C. W. last September over the expectation of this wondrous event came to a most brilliant climax on the evening of October 2. On entering the beautifully decorated and dimly candle-lighted reception halls of K. C. W., the girls, simply dressed in their organdies and summer frocks, found them- selves immediately besieged by the entertainment co-mmittee and the ycung men of Centre. Delicious refreshments were served by the members of the Junior Prep Class, and when the fateful hour of departure came it was with great reluctance that K. C. W. bade Centre good-night. HE annual reception given by the Y. W. C. A. for the new girls lr J Y. M. C. A. Reception One of the most pleasant events of the social calendar this year was the Y. M. C. A. reception given by the young men of Centre for the K. C. W. girls. This event has always been one of pleasure, but this year the entertainment in the halls of old Centre of K. C. W. girls. most significantly the true meaning of their one for all. The colors of the two schools refreshments. will hold many fond memories in the hearts The entertainment committee carried out name, and the evening was a most enjoyable were used artistically in the decorations and Had not the chaperons been skilled in the art of reminding the girls to bid the boys good-night, there would pro-bably have been many Cinderellas on this evening reluctant to leave the merriment. al if - e -it 5?
