We may live without money, without friendship and books, But civilized man cannot live without cooks. Mary Lewis is about the most versatile member of the class. She is especially domestic and majors in home economics, but at the same time she studies hard, takes part in all school activities, and is a member of the Red basketball team. She is a good conversationalist and is blessed with a keen sense of humor. Never will we forget her famous point- less jokes, or her ability to tell them. O6 course, everyone lcnows Ellen, star of May Day frolics and Christmas carols. She is jolly and popular, and also holds the unique position of having discovered the route to Miss Shailer's favor. Ellen possesses decided vocal talent and is song leader of the class and of the school. She has dramatic ability, which has led her to make expression her major subject. She held prominent parts in the June play and in the senior play acquitted herself with fame. She plays basketball and swims as well, and dances beautifully. We are not so well acquainted with Mar- jorie, as she came to us only this year, but it can be safely said that she is one of the most charming members of her class. If she undertakes a thing she is sure to back it to the end, and she is far from being a slaclcer when it comes to bright ideas. Marjorie is a musician of no little ability, and who could fail to get pep at the sound of her wonderful jazzn? She also plays basketball and taltes an active part in all school activi- ties. School life is a song for Brummal, for she surely has a way with her and can't be beat when it comes to putting it over. She is possessed of a mixture of' wit and wisdom rarely found in the same person. She has executive ability and leadership, which has made her prominent in all school activities. She excels in dramatics and starred especially in the senior play. When other things fail to interest, K. C. W. has always Brummal's love affairs to fall back on, and each one seems more hopeless than the last, We see her trip- ping through life without a backward glance, always a social favorite and suc- cessful in whatever she undertakes. NELLIE MARGARET LAWRENCE Danville, Ky. All things come to him who waits. Therefore why should I hurry? During lVlargaret's frequent visits to school we have had but slight opportunity to know her. Always quiet and reserved, she puts the noisy chatter of the English class to shame-when she gets there in time. She must be very modest, for it took the entire annual staff, plus the rest of the seniors and Miss Lilly, to prevail upon her to have her picture made for the annual. She will never startle the world, but will do the sort of quiet good which is so greatly needed in this world. Cb Page twenty two
