It is reported that Mr. Gordon still finds the back row more interesting than the movie October 4 On this most glorious of warm fall days the entire school Journeyed through the brilliant countryside to Hebron Once there victory tasted sweet Sam s Itahan sandwiches on the way home were good too October 23 Forest fires have sprung up all around us on account of the unprece dented dryness From the tower the destructive progress of the flames can be clearly followed November 11 Today an impressive ceremony lnaugurated the use of the Tow er Music System dedicated to the 4-41 Kents Hill bovs and girls who serv ed m 11 orld War 2 fifteen of whom lost their llv es This music system will pl ty chimes from the Bearce Hall tower May 15 Tonight we were entertained by the spring dr rmatic production Stage Door Connie Barr recelved an orchld from the cast for her fine acting Eight members of the Junior class who had parts of varying importance w ere Lucille Roberts Carolyn Place Carollyn Flagg -Xnn Graves 'N xtfehe Arnold Kenneth Sprague Pattargell lNxcolct and Paul Grenier Serv 1ng on the production staff were Joyce 11 heeler John Hamilton and Fred 11 orster May Q0 194-8 hlargaret Chase Smith w ho is campaigning to be the first w oman United States Senator to be elected ln her own right delighted her Ixents Hill audience by her candid views and unassuming pe rsonalitv June 6 Toel ay we said goodby to the school and the cl iss of 1948 after the grad uation exercises in which our class w as well represented Ixenneth Sprague led the gradu ating group as the cl rss marshall and Muriel Sprague recelv ed the Fac ulty prize for keeping the neatest room during the year Cvthnla Cleveland rece ived the Kreger Prize for 0lltSt8I1d1I1g character and scholarship end also a prize for hav ing the highest average in the Junior class Barbara Purssell receiv ed an aw ard for having the highest average in the Junior College Freshman Class It looks as though the Class of 194-9 is reallv going to be successful October 10 Kents Hill s first Home Coming YY eeleend has been a success I' riends alumnl and students enJovcd together the girls tie score hockey g :mc with W ilton and bovs victory ln feiotball over Livermore Falls Two hundred students and guests shared a buffet supper end attended the flrst movie program held in the new the iter Enjoyable sehool pictures were part of the entertalnment Sunday October 11 A student planned vesper service in Deering Chapel this afternoon was conducted by Muriel Sprague and Cv nthia Cleveland X well thought out zddress bv Ivan Wltham and a vocal solo bv Ixenneth Sprague were much apprcci rted as the girls who had the privilege of escorting them and cuttlng in as well as of buving the tickets Pumpkins md bales of hav geve a rustic background for the informal to say the least costumes worn The student b end new lv org mired under the leadership of Holt Bussell was 1 hit Nov ember 13 ll ts it the date or the weather?
