Trine is from Vejle, Denmark, and her hobbies include listening to music, playing sports and talking with people While in Kenton, Trine was on the volleyball team and the track team. She also helped on the yearbook. Trine said that Danish schools are alot harder than American, and there are alot more students in classes here. Kenton is a small town so you get to know everyone, it feels like home. Trine said. When she returns to Denmark Trine is thinking of attending a business college Trine said that it will be hard to leave and that she would miss everyone from Kenton and hopes to return for a visit in the future. FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENTS TRINE LARSEN CLAUDIA OCAMPO CORDOVA TETSUKO HAMANO Claudia is from Mexico City and has been involved in the art club, choir and has been a manager for the girls basketball team. She also had a piece of her art work in the county art show. Claudia likes painting, playing the guitar and taking walks She found Kenton different from her native Mexico and feels the people of Kenton are very friendly and open with little discrimination in the educational system. In schools in Mexico the teachers change rooms, not the students. There is also more attention paid to sports here Tetsuko is from Urawa, Japan, a suburb of Tokyo. She has been a participant in volleyball, T.I., Basketball manager, and track manager while a student at Kenton High School. Tetsuko, enjoys reading good books, listening to music, knitting and taking walks around the urban area of Tokyo. She commented that school is not as restrictive here as it is in Japan as all students wear uniforms and do not have a much choice in class selection. She likes living in the small town atmosphere of Kenton, but misses her large urban area at home because of the larger number of activities available there EXCHANGE STUDENTS 11
