The goals are to promote better family living, to provide training for each chapter member for participation in home, school and community activities, to help make the home a safer place in which to live, and to encourage learning more about neighbors in other countries.

The chief purpose of the F. F. A. is to make better farmers of American boys and to develop agricultural leadership, co-operation, and citizenship. TheF.F.A. takes an active part in the County and State Fairs and the Highway Safety Program. The motto of the club is: Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve. The club colors are blue and gold.

The Hi-Y is a Christian service organization whose purpose is to create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community a high stand- ard of Christian character. To do this four goals are set: clean speech, clean sports, clean scholarship, and clean living. The Hi-Y sold ice cream at the Hardin County Fair, sold Christmas candles, had the concession stand for the W.B.L. Track meet, and played two basketball games with the Alger Hi-Y. The club members attended churches of various de- nominations during the year. President Chalfin receives gavel from Mr. Hackney as Chaplain and Reporter look on.
