Through the efforts of the journalism class many edi- tions of the school paper were published during the course of the past school year. The students gained many in- sights in the field of journalism through the instruction received in the classroom work. In addition to work on the school paper, much time was spent in the editing of the yearbook . We, as a group, had enjoyable times in our work and efforts, and hope that all our readers enjoyed reading the published ma- terial . The journalism class is hard at work on a final copy of the school newspaper. Students enrolled in journalism this year were: J. Myers, J. Longbrake, J. Friedel, P. Stinson, S. Layton, J. Men- denhal, G. Mabrey, J. Oates, M. Roby, N. Todd, E. Boyd, D. Paul, S, Zachariah, D. Burba, C. Cox, C. Smith, I. Rogers, D. Hart, N. Longbroke, N. Wooley, England, E. Barclay, R. Ridenour, and E. Kearns. Mr. Thornton Lynam, Jr. was the advisor of the staff this year. 4

DecUceiti y t We, the Echo Staff of 1955, dedicate this edition of the Annual Echol to Mr. George Austin Keel, a graduate of Kenton High School in 1937. Mr. Keel attended Ohio Northern University where he majored in physical educa- tion, and graduated in 1941 . Mr. Keel's sense of fair play, sharp discipline, re- spect forscholarship, and cooperation with his colleagues are the mark of this gentleman, whom we respect. Through the efforts of this graduate, each and every student has gained a better understanding of sportsmanship and scholarship. School spirit is one of the many things stressed by our respected and admired coach.

Miss Sloan's typing class is hard at work, save one. Come on, girls, let's play volleyball. Mr. Shepherd can surely explain an algebra problem in an interesting way. This is one of the projects undertaken by the boys in Mr. Kinney's shop room. Students in this classroom learn of the birds and bees. Many delicious dishes are cooked in this classroom with the guidance of Mrs. Knollman.
