Third: Mr. Cantrell John Weitz, Dan Peter-a son, John Karpen, Dennis Hay, Bruce Joyce Larry Scribner, Dick Belles. The team started very strong and had an attitude that was good for winning ball games. They had turned out early and worked hard. As a result we won the first half of the league games without much trouble, but during the second half the other teams improved more than we had. The early winning streak gave the team the morale and life to finish out the second half with only one defeat. In the really tough games the team played very well and most all the players Ihowed promise of becoming even better ball players in their senior high school years. Some boys like Bruce Joyce and Gary Parmenter were just getting started and if the season had continued they would have shown very we11.A -42-
