Twenty sux Sports Summary Taylor Trophy Kent I-hgh School teams were on top of the world durrng the majorrty of the 1935 36 athletrc year Football had a successful season as the Vandal eleven won two tred four and lost but one game to frmsh the Puget Sound Conference schedule rn thrrd place Three extra games were played thrs year an openrng game wrth Issaquah a speclal game with Seattle Preparatory School to pay the costs of roofmg the bleachers and the annual Thanksglvlng Day game wrth Auburn Ruben Anderson co captarn and guard who played an outstanding game all year was placed on the all conference football team Out of fourteen games played rn the regular basketball conference schedule the Vandals won seven and lost seven The team ended rn thlrd place and made the best shovung smce I933 Kent placed one man Bruce Shaffer on the all conference basketball team lettermen rncluded ln a relatnely small turnout of twenty frve An mtra mural meet was held on Aprrl I7 nn whrch the sophomores came out frrst the freshmen second and the junlors and semors tred for thrrd place Meets were scheduled vxlth Auburn Buckley Sumner and a four way meet wrth Puyallup Renton and Hlghlme Tenms galned headn ay at the start of the season but fell off durmg the latter part of Aprll as the courts were bemg reparred Prve lettermen were back from the l93a turnout and the tenms team was headed for the top of the world - P 7 ' I V ,K p 71 I 3 1 ' D D l ' 1 I ' I J I K 7' L. 3 . l 3 l D Interest lagged somewhat in track this year as' there were only three 3 I , I ' l V3 Y - I l - 7' k ' .- 1 .
