BEA SAWYER SUE BROWN My interest is in the future, for that is where I'm going to spend the rest of my life. 60 l i CAROL DREW The wine was summer caught and stop- pered. It was only right and proper that some of this new knowledge, some of this special vintage day would be sealed away for opening on a January day with snow falling fast and the sun unseen for weeks or months and perhaps some of the miracle by then forgotten and in need of renewal. Ray Bradbury Dandelion Wine 61 SHERRY SAWYER 62 MARCIA SMITH as if you could kill time without injuring eternity. VIRGINIA MCCLLIRE only fading memories remind that this second was once life itself JANE C. BOQTHMAN Our Import from England: upolywog spots and a fantastic varsity member. Coon That's killing ii,,. .lane il ' 65 LINDA BLAIR The moving finger writesi and having writ, Moves ony nor all Thy Piety nor wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a line, Nor all Thy tears wash out a word of it. Omar Khayyam 66 V sis i CHRIS LEDDY the mind is restless, turbulent, strong and unyielding as difficult to subdue as the wind. Bhagavad-Gita l 67 KATHIE O'DONNELL I am not afraid of tomorrow for I have seen yesterday, and I love today. 68 SUE RINGSBY What are you going to do when you're born? l'm going to start with a wild orgy. You will live magnificently. l expect to live two days. Why so short? l'll be worn out. Won't it make you afraid-thinking about going so soon? l'll have had a full life. I don't think l'll even bother being born. lT's quite an experience. But it will just lead to so many complications. Complications are good for you. l'll be happy as I am. But you're not. Then l'll be happy as l'm not. 69 i YUM YUM DLIRRANCE Time is but a stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at itz but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. Standing on the rocks Her quicksilver hair rippling on the wind She readily awaits Hoping to love all that her eyes can see 7l SALLIE DODGE Walk alone mostly, but if with a com- panion, choose who knows the secrets of quietness. Wilfred A. Peterson 72 CARLA YANCEY For God, for liberty, and the G.O.P 73 MARTHA ELY We never did like you. scab. You never were really one of us, you know. 74 We know nothing of the futures Our business is to be happy today. 75 ELANE RICE HANNAH PARKINSON Hannah came to Kent in her so- phomore year. With a truly Canadian accent, she quickly taught us that napkins aren't really napkins, but serviettes. She never looks for fun, it usually catches up with her. me DEE DEE ROSS Like most Dorothys, l was hung up on The Wizard of Oz at an early age . . . going where the yellow brick road would lead me. The road varied from wide to narrow, full of dreams and disappointments. For a while it became a mere pathway . . . then the light became stronger . . . the road opened up . . . and I stood in a meadow, bursting with sunshine. Throwing my shoes aside . . . I wiggled my toes in the lush green grass and cracked the stillness with my laughther. 77 44 ff CYN DY CALKINS A friend is someone who makes you want to be at your best, but who loves you when you're at your worst. DEENIE BILLS This is very interesting. said phiIosopher. James Stephens i 9 Candy . . . sets highest val- ues on the appreciation of little things, from bubble bath to pennies.
