HISTORY OF CLASS OF '56' when the class of 1956 started as kindergartners in 19143, it consisted of ten pupils, namely, Arla Mae Anderson, Carolyn Bill, Donna Mae Rexford Nettie Hilton, Nona Johnson, Gordon Pant, Janice Speese, Mary Pike, Max Williams, and Jerry Wabeke Our first teacher was Mrs Kreps In our second and third grades our teacher was Mrs Gibson and Delores Harrald joined us whe we hit the fourth, Mike Thomas was added to our number and we remained the same in the fifth Our fourth and fifth teacher was Mrs Reyburn We then passed to the realms of the sixth and seventh grade with addition of Nancy Deyo, while losing Nettie Hilton Mrs Denhoff was our teacher for these two grades John Coalter, Jack Harrison, June Coalter, Marilyn Kriger, Kathleen Hamilton, Phillip Smith joined us in the eighth grade In our first year of high school we had a big addition of pupils those being Jane Afton, Stella VanderZanden, Rose Ann Fox, Rosalie Pamer, Fred Shepard, Dave Schutter, Don Stockhill, Peckham, Janelle Stoken, Donna Stoken, Helsel, Marilyn Kriger,which then gave we were very fortunate in being one of Robert DeVos, Munson Robinson, Charles Elsie Devries, Joan Landheer, Marilyn our class its biggest enrollment the first classes to be in the new school We elected the following members for class officers Pres Jerry Uabeke, Vice Pres Stella VanderZanden, Sec Don Stockhill, and Treas Arla Mae Anderson Our Adviser was Robert LaBrie In this year we went through lntitation losing no one At the starting of the tenth grade we lost Robert Devos and Fred Rollenhagen Our class officers were Pres Stella Vanderzanden, Vice Nancy Deyo, Sec John Coalter, Treas Arla Mae Anderson Our Adviser Pres was James Fox By now we were getting along very well and were beginning have fun in more activities When we were juniors we lost Donna Stoken, and we gained no one We ' 1
