Al- though we have not had all winning teams, we've always had the school spirit. This spirit is promoted by the members of the Pep Club and their advisor, Mrs. Kay Hurd. In addition to cheering the football basketball, and wrestling teams on, the girls and guys put up signs in the halls and work hard putting on clever skits for the pep rallies. Any student at Kenston High can become a member of this organiza- tion. 88 OFFICERS, L-R: S. Heringa, treasurer: P. Mosentha secretary: S. English, president: M. Macpherson, president. 1

SUSI TUCEK - Head Cheerleader. Sherry Webster Jamie Starbuck Susi Tucek Polly Rovtar Cheerleaders Last spring the high school faculty picked eight girls for Kenston High's cheerleading squad. The Varsity and Junior Varsity squads consist of four girls each, sophomores through seniors represented. Cheerleaders have a very special function to perform at school athletic activities by leading and channel- ing the schoo1's spirit in support of the football and basketball teams, Although there is a feeling that perhaps cheerleaders are unnecessary, their hard work planning pep rallies and bolstering school spirit is as important to a football team or basketball team as a football or basketball, The easiest thing in the world to do is to have spirit when winning, but it is hard to keep when losing. Although Kenston didn't enjoy a winning season, the cheerleaders, Varsity and Junior Varsity, maintained the school spirit, 89
