The years you have spent in high school have been Filled with many problems-some were easily solved, others are still puzzling you, and will continue to do so. You have learned that there are questions which must be decided, not for the moment, but for the long future. We are all aware of the fact that in our present emergency we must choose those goods and services to be maintained and enhanced, and those to be curtailed or dispensed with entirely. And, in doing this, there must be full understanding of the present and future effect of such decisions, Errors in judgment can- not be compensated for. The results will be registered per- manently in our history and our citizens. lt therefore be- hooves us to examine carefully, think clearly, and evaluate logically as we determine the relative value of our goods and services. You will have many opportunities to prove yourselves, to show all of us your strength of character, your unselfish service to others, your courage and your charity.
