CLASS PLAY OF '53-'54 Saved by the Belle was presented on a stormy evening of November 20, 1953. They were as follows: House Mother--Carol Spitzer, Warren Sands --Bob Cfoehringg Slugger O'Day--Haakon Ekreng Jackie Clark--Gene Briss, Members of the sorority house Clarice Spitzer, Sandra Spitzer, Karen Burleson, Yvonne Friday, Janice Neva, Pat Kru- beck, and Marlene Schroeder, Voice on the radio--Gordon Lambrecht. BANQUET- PROM' The junior-senior banquet was held May lei, 1953, at the Methodist Church parlors. A delicious dinner of chicken and all of the trimmings was served at 6:30 P. M. by our mothers. The rOOrTi Was CleCOr-ated with a Hawaiian atmosphere of palm trees and colored strea- mers. Miss Patty Krubeck was M.C. The Prophecy and Will of the Class of '53 was read by Ruth Turner. Other program numbers were a vocal solo by Karen Burleson and a piano duet by Clarice and Carol Spitzer. Six sophomore girls dressed in Hawaiian fashion waited tables. Everyone in formal dresses and dinner jackets had a very enjoyable time. Later that evening the prom was held at the gymnasium. Here again, the setting was Hawaiian and the effect of the gay streamers, palm trees, and the sandy beach with soft music from Burleson's orchestra floating on the breeze was most entrancing. The evening was complete with program dancing, punch, and tidbits to munch on. Everyone had a gay time and reluctantly drift- ed homeward with stars in his eyes and memories that will never be forgotten. at Q' 57, f'e- 3 e .2 Ei ' Jya fu-l ij 15
