91' KAREN BURLESON On a cozy little farm three miles north of Kensal lived the Burleson family, There had been many im- portant events in this happy home, but none so exciting and blissful as that which occurred on the noted day of May 6, 1936. For on this bright, sunny, spring day, a bouncing baby girl came to bless this household! Little Karen's sunny disposition was evident from the very start. She gurgled and cooed at everyone. On one September morning in her sixth year, Karen was up at dawn for this was the clay she started School- Karen liked school very much and was always right up among the top students in her classes. Looking at the musical background of her family, Karen didn't have much choice but to follow in their footsteps and she fit those shoes very well. She loved to sing! She used to wake her folks up in the early morning hours with her rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle Widdle Star. After finishing grade school Karen en- tered Kensal High. She likes to try anything that's fun! Her favorite sport is basketball. She loves mov- ies too, her favorite being Calamity Jane and she claims that Gregory Peck just sends her! Her favorite pastime is talking and she just adores French fries. She plans to enter the nursing profession after gra- duation and with all of her talent and pe rsonality, we can foresee a most successful future for her. Y VONNE FR IDAY On the day of November 4, 1936 a precious little bundle was left at the Friday home in Nashua, Minne- sota. This little bundle was Yvonne Marie. When Yvonne was five years old she started school at Veblen, South Dakota. When she was in the fourth grade she moved to Kensal where she finished the grades and is now a senior in high school. Yvonne has been a leader all through her school years. She has held the offices of president, vice-president, and secretary-treasurer, in high school. She has sung in the school chorus and has taken part in many ofthe sports throughout the year. She has held many posi- tions on the paper staff and is now the editor of the annual. Yvonne's favorites are: Food---chicken 81 dumplings: actor---Robert Wagner, actress ---June Allyson, sport ---kittenballg subject---algebra. Her favorite pastime is rollerskating. Yvonne's ambition is to become a registered nurse, and even though she is a tiny little girl, we know she will be very successful. 11
