KENNEDY, COMPLETE THE SCHOOL'S T FIRST DECADE 4 V' 1 1 il 5 M.. lf you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on youg If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, And make allowance for their doubting, too 5 If you can wait and not be tired of waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies 5 Or being hated, ,don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream, and not make dreams your master If you can think, and not make thoughts your aim 5 If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster, And treat those two imposters just the sameg lf you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop, and build them up with worn out tools 5 lf you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss 5 lf you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: Hold on! If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtues, Or walk with Kings -nor lose the common touch- if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you. lf all men count with you - but none too muchg If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance rung Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my Son! Rudyard Kipling www-A Dedication Four score and ninety days ago, the Kennedy High Senior Class of 1975 was inaugu- rated and dedicated to the proposition that we would become the greatest senior class ever! It was at this time that the man Whom We honor came forth, as he had once before, with dedication, sincerity, and an enormous amount of love for each and every one of us. He stood tall, and determined to make this a class of the seniors, by the seniors, and for the seniors. He gave his all - from oranges to orchids, grapefruit. to prom chaperones. He asked not what We could do for him, but always, what he could do for us. Therefore, it is only fitting and proper that we, the Class of 1975, dedicate our yearbook to the bearded gentleman in 110, our class advisor, Mr. Edward Staskauskas We Shall Never Forget Him! june 12, 1975 The Prznezpal Speaks To The Class 0fI975 John F. Kennedy Hzgh School May I extend to each of you my warmest congratulations on having achieved a milestone in your young lives. As members of the Class of 1975 you now take leave of Kennedy and pre- pare to tread the diverse paths of the poet. For some, the chosen path will lead to higher education, for others, to employment in business and industry. Whatever the road, may you find fulfillment along the way. The distinction of being the tenth graduating class of Ken- nedy High gives the class of 1975 special reason to ponder past and future. Perhaps his- tory may, in agreement with Emerson, judge the recent decade as: An age of fobs and toys Wanting wisdom, void of right However, as surely as we sorrow over the disappoint- ments and frustrations of the past, we as eagerly await realization of our hopes and dreams for the future. As each of you, therefore, sets foot along your own individual path, may you be fortified by the learning you take with you from Kennedy High School. May the friendships you have made here enrich your life. May the ideals instilled in you by par- ents and teachers guide your footsteps. May the class of 1975 go THEODORE A DONAHUE forth spirited by the optimism Pf1HC1Pa1 of a new awakening. 6 The Dynamic Duo FRANK TESTA at if if 1 ' Sigh JUSTIN MILLIUN Guidance JOHN REARDON 40' L... The loss of many personnel through graduation accounted for their 2-11 record. Yet the Kennedy swimmers never lost confidence and worked hard under their new coach, Woody Bevil. As a result, many of Mr. Bevil's athletes shined. Brightest of all was diver Dave Sidella, whose talent and style left him undefeated in the regular season. Dave was second in the Open States. This was Kennedy's year for great diversg the board was also shared by junior Guy Gannon, and senior Dyke Ricard. Dave Bergin, a fine breast stroker, helped to capture first place in many of the meets. Two other outstanding swimmers that earned points for their team were Tom Helming and Duane Boise. Boise, along with Bergin and Sidella, was a tri-captain. All three made the 1974 -75 All-Naugatuck Valley League swim team.
