This was the key question at the December 4th pancake supper in the school cafeteria. The winner re- ceived a loving cup in honor of that memorable feat and that memorable appetite! The pancake supper, held on a Saturday, was the first activity of the junior class. The supper was catered by the D Ka E Pancake Service of Lincoln Park. With its motto of all you can eat for the price of one admission, it proved a big success. To kick-off the new year, the juniors began with a January 12th Bermuda Hop social. But the big affair of the year was naturally the Junior Prom, which transformed the students into truly elegant young men and women. A precedent was set in April when the juniors sponsored an art sale at the Taylor- Town Mall. Directed by Mr. Gotts, the art display and sale offered an opportunity for all students at Kennedy High to show their talents by entering their individual creations. Another event of the spring was done in cooperation with the drama club in pre- senting the school play. The junior class defrayed the expenses of tickets and programs. The final affair, the Junior-Senior Social, was given on May 12th to host the departing seniors as honored guests. Soon, the juniors would be replacing them! All in all, the junior class had an energetic and profitable year! 94 Q Q. f S lliiilillllli fmmmm SOPHOMORE CLASS OFFICERS. SEATED-Karen Ludwig, Vice Presi- dentg Faye Kopczynski, Treasurer. The Student Government of John F. Kennedy High School has en- deavored to promote school spirit and better student-faculty relations. To instill a feeling of pride in our school, the Student Government sponsored a school decorating project before Christmas, the first annual School Spirit Week, and the largest fall social event -- Frost at Midnight. The Student Government has also been at work sponsoring many social functions during the school year. It is constantly attempting to make the school year more interesting and beneficial. Kennedy Honor Society The first of Kennedy High School's spring induction ceremonies netted 36 charter members for the Kennedy Honor Society, an organization of the school's most outstanding students on the basis of character, scholarship 13.252, leadership, and service. The 17 senior and 19 junior candidates were notified by mail, at the beginning of the spring semester of their election to membership by the faculty and of the meeting to discuss goals and purposes of the society, plans for having the yearbook picture taken, and information about the formal ceremony to be performed by the Taylor Center High School Honor Society. Under the direction of sponsor, Mr. Vandette, and the faculty board of directors: Mr. Maley, Mr. Pantalone, Mr. Lininger, Miss Boncarosky, Mr. Bone, Mr. Dickelman, Miss Koan, and Miss Wilkinson, the Kennedy Honor Society was established as the forerunner to the Kennedy National Honor Society which is expected to replace the original organization as soon as Kennedy High School is accredited by the North Central Association.
