his Is It. This Is Kennedy. Nothing pretentious. No neon lights or flashy billboards. No showing off. No need. Other schools may have claimed superiority. We telt ours. That’s because we had style. Warmth. Let Burnsville win Its games. Let Edina be run over by Its preppies. Leave Jefferson to Its air-conditioned comfort. We wasted little etfort on boasting. Because we’ve got heart. And that speaks for Itself. Our honor was not forced It came trom within each one of us. It was a dally habit. Our pride was 1,950 students strong. Our strength was subtle. Our subtlety made us special. We came on slowly. And before they knew It, we had overtaken them. Nobody suspected It. They thought they knew us ... the Burnsvllles, JEdlnas, and Jeffersons of this world said they were best. Read on to see why ... w we were better than best. Bight: Yes. ndoed. This is if. BETTER THEN BEST! Aou don’t n the limelight. The connotation is enviable. But you did not have to be one ot them to be “somebody. That’s because performers alone didn't make a scene complete. Just ask any athlete or JB Singer or cheerleader what makes performing — or winning — exciting. The answer, inevitably: the crowd. Mo matter who was competing, Kennedy kids were there, supporting their friends. Performers were needed to give the school a tocus, that’s for sure. But without spectators — without their applause — there would have been no scene, no spirit. That’s because people make events. People with spirit make games. And if you were one of those people, you were somebody. Indeed, you were a star.
