Ritualistically the Team competed in the Virginia Jamboree by downing Orr 22-13 and helping the East beat the West. In the first game the Knights took an easy 58-36 victory over Cook but fell to Mt. Iron 61-50 in the second. IGI-ITS ARE NUM BER 1 J Babbitt rebounded by knocking off Aurora, Biwabik and the Falls in the next three games. All but the Biwabik game were squeekers with the scores being 52-52, 62-55 and - - Consecutively Buhl was pounded 72-54, Greenway trampled i n ,,kV 85-73, Ely bombed 69-52, Bigfork belittled 72-55 and Deer 1L ' ' River nipped 55-54. With a ten win backing, the Knights challenged Chisholm 'and nearly succeeded until Chisholm exploded on Babbitt's mistakes, 82-57. 42 50-47 respectively. Q The Knights spent a few days in Crookston only to get beat by Thief River Falls 75-45, meet the worst refs this side of st ,R 3, J the Mason- Dixon Line, and to be trapped in a blizzard. E E in After that Babbitt had time to snatch a quick one from 'wi Eveleth 45-41 before hitting a three game losing streak-- 'W -Q Gilbert 73-64, Silver Bay 57-40 and Tower-Soudan 64-49. NIGHTS HAVE THE GREATEST TE M RCU The Knights sneaked another one point victory by edging Nashwauk- Keewatin 43-42. Virginia proved to be eight points too good for the JFKer's and took the contest 69-61. Babbitt took a jumb at their last scheduled opponents but were not able to hold their own as the wierd Littlefork-Big Falls team 'huddled' the win 75-44. This was written before tourna- ments so such results are not available. A SQ AD HOCKEY TEAM BACK ROW L-R: C. Schanlaub, C. Scott, F. Senta, B. Michlitsch, M. Rozier, B. McDonald, J. Boffa., G. Unfortuna tely, because of illness, lack of in- terest and dropouts, hopes were soon shattered. However, those young men who stuck it out weren't about to let everything slip away from them, and so by hard work and some help from jr. High Swimmers the team Darth Keller, Greg Arntz, Gus Akkanen, Jim Strezishar wound up winning four of their meets. At the time of this writing the L. R. C Championship meet has not been held but if the team swims as hard as they have been, they should make a good showing. The years ahead belong to you. You alone hold fate in the palm of your hand. Reach with those hands as far, as high as you can and find your place in life. Take your time, but do not waste it, for time will go on and leave you behind. Take all you can and give all you' ve got, but remember the future is not your toy, it is your tool. lt's your time. --Paula Lenski 101 G Amimvcax vuksook CQMPANY W ,4 In ' O'-ff f!b - vwxq 54 :fi'f373c4,.: , fs' ff 5 ' 1:31,-A hifi, ?fe'3vxg5F.f-1i' 'T if'- Q X '1 w fx n l ,q' T A 4 I i l I V ' Z -H' f,v4 V L 5 .
