The band puT on o greai Winier ConcerT ThaT saw The firsi sfand- ing ovaTion in The hisTory of The school, This was an amen of good Things To come, For example, in January, we wenT To The local elemenTary and junior high schools and performed for fuTure Cougars. ln February, our Long ls- lancl-renowned Jazz Band per- formed aT a nursing home. ln March, we played for The school musical, and in April and May we highlighfed our year wiTh an ex- change Trip To AmhersT H.S. in up- sTaTe New York. LaTer, The Arn- hersi Band came To J.F.K. To play wiTh us. iT was an experience Thai we'll never forgei. For all of These acTiviTies, we owe a greai deal of Thanks To our Teacher, Mr. Smolensky, and our officers, who worked hard To make This year memorable.
