IT LOOKS LIKE THIS I9 . . . 228 blind date Cblind datej, n. 1 . a prearranged confrontation between two people, male and female, who were previously unknown to each other. 2 . an artificial relinquishing of ex- citement, usually creating sweaty palms and self-induced il- lusions before introduction of the unknown counterpart. 3 . a situation which makes the participant vulnerable to the rumors of his peers, the experiences of his siblings, and the encouragement of the third party. 4 . an event whereby the participant establishes dreamlike images and great expecta- tions of his date, witnessing and judging it before actually perceiving with his own nervous system, and ultimately either accepting it or rejecting it: I had a blind date with high school. . .
