Kennedy High School Kennedy, Alabama For Everything There Is a Time For each goal in our lives we are given time, time to fulfill our fartherest dreams — With these dreams comes the joy and happiness of life — As years go by we realize that many of our dreams have been fulfilled — But with the fulfillment of one dream comes another to take its place — For these dreams there is also more time, time to turn them into realities in life — For every dream, every hope, and every joy there is a time — i r— iV A Riley McGee Principal All of the ingredients that make a good high school principal are contained in Mr. Riley McGee. He has a great responsibility in running a high school, but will always take time to assist you in any way. He is always firm but fair when handling his students. The English program at Kennedy in- cludes audio-visual aids which are obtained from the Material Center at Vernon. This greatly extends the pupils' knowledge of English and literature. history An understanding of the past provides us with the key to the future. With this in mind a history student can apply his knowledge to current problems. The proper background in history equips the student with the materials to contrib- ute to society and be an effective world citizen. science A knowledge of science is vital in today's world. Besides the gen- eral sciences, a study of biology is offered at Kennedy. With these a student may lay a foundation on which he can continue his stud- ies as a career. home economics agriculture The Ag. boys have made many contributions that have benefited the school. They have also received a work- able knowledge of machinery that will aid them later in life. The H. E. girls have mastered the arts of cook- ing, sewing, and cleaning, that will also aid the boys in later life. typing One of the most useful skills taught at Kennedy is typing. It is essential for those young ladies who wish to become a secretary. A Besides the personal satisfaction each person gained from the music classes, he also had the honor of performing at teacher’s meeting in Vernon and later in Sulligent. music physical education President-------------- Vice President--------- Secretary - Jane Jones -----------Jimmy Gray . -----------Max Junkins Treasurer - Wanda Taylor st mt : - ’ a ss '? : • - .1« v S3 ;‘ r «$. v . Their first big downfall came at the hands of Akron at the beginning of the season with a score of 7-0. After falling to the mighty powers of Reform, Brilliant, and Millport the Jackets were determined to win against Hubbertville. The Jackets led from the first quarter by a score of 6-0. Their luck finally ran out with 20 seconds left in the game. Hubbertville scored but failed on the extra point and the game ended 6-6. This kind of luck stayed with them the rest of the season as they lost to Livingston 12-7, and Caledonia 13-7. co-captains CHESTER ALDRIDGE JAMES HILDRETH STEVE McADAMS FIRST ROW: Frankel Himnicutt, Douglas Trull, James Hildreth, John Lynn Prater, Ronald Junkins, Max Junkins, Freddy Moore. As the season progressed injuries healed and a few players were promoted from the B team. With this help the Jackets finished strong by beating Carrollton the last game in regular season play. The Jackets also beat the In- dians in the area tournament only to be defeated by Millport. lettermen DAVID COLLINS 3 Letters PAUL DAVIS 1 Letter STEVE McADAMS 3 Letters LOUIS TRULL 2 Letters b-feam FRONT ROW: Loyd Moore, Ronnie Weathers. In Memoriam He's gone from us and our eyes are blind with grief To no longer see that face we loved so well We look and look so hard for any reason why, But our tear filled eyes just seem to fail. There’s a Sweetness no human mind can know, And a Joy that's concealed one breath away. There’s a Fringe where no earthly things can go, Where light prevails and beauty is part of every day. We may meet again some distant day, And then we'll know why death must be. Perhaps we'll sit and talk by some silver lake; How senseless then our earthly tears will seem. «KHIiMBIBMHlIUIir LAMAR MANUFACTURING CO. Millport, Alabama COLUMBUS, MISS.
