To place a time value on some of the experiences such as Citizen- ship and Leadership, one may have to wait until next year, or until the time when your family, community, state, or nation can have the opportunity to see your life as an individual citizen of your country. Or it may be that future generations will have to judge the true value of your contribution to human welfare. May it be said of you, when the final chapter of your life nas been written, that your contribution was equal to your ability. You may have to pass on to posterity part of the responsibilities which this present generation will leave to you, but let it not be said that you, with your training and background, did not eliminate some of the evils, solve some of the problems, and ih general, leave this world a better place in which to live. I have benefited greatly by our association. Having shared in your happiness and sorrow has left its mark on me. My pay has not been altogether in dollars and cents. My granted wish for you is that much happiness and success be yours. Always remember him from wnom all blessings flow. Sincerely, Charles P. Mrs. Addle Baker helped us through our first year. There were I4.O of us in the first grade. By the second grade with Mrs. Willena Davis we were getting to be old hands at coming to school. The thing we enjoyed most with Mrs. Lydia Plyer was our Third Grade Fair. Our fourth year with Mrs. Marceline Willis brought on learning to multiply with four numbers. In the fifth grade with Mrs. Blanche Hydrick we were introduced to fractions. The sixth grade was a pain to a few of us. With Mrs. Yvlette Savage many of us got our first spankings. In '51 we had to accustom ourselves to the ways of high school. Mr. Luther Jones had a diffcult time getting us started. We welcomed Margaret Dunn to our class. Mr. William Carpenter brought us through the 8th grade, we had to say good-by to Margaret Dunn. We were also glad to have Mr. Carpenter again in the 9th grade. This year, we gained Lorine Wilson, Jerry White, and Joe Max Watkins. We began taking Home Economics and Agriculture and more priviliges came our way. We lost Nell Wilson to Pervy Carroll through marriage. Rachel Long was advanced from our class. Mr. M. E. Karr brought us through the 10th grade where we welcomed Rosa Lea Gilreath, Louise Gilreath and Mazine Crowley. We were sorry to lose Joe Max Watkins. In our 11th year with Mrs. Ellen McAdams we presented our first drama, A Feaudin' Over Yonder.” Our banquet theme was Oriental . We lost Jessie Nell Griffin and Mazine Crowley. Mrs. McAdams stayed with us for our senior year, when we lost Charles Howard, Lefoy Jones and Nell Bradford Foster. There are now 26 of us, 11 of the original class. Kathleen Rushing, Class Historian Last Will And Testament We, the Senior Class of 1957 hereby dedicate our last will and testament to the faculty and student body of Kennedy High School. Della Marr Aldridge, well, Della Marr just leaves, Della Marr Aldridge Class Testator Class Prohecy As I, William Davis, sit here daydreaming, I see the future of the Kennedy Class of 57 • As the haze clears the vision be- comes clearer to me. Ten years have passed. I see Mac Ayers happily married and living in Millport. He is owner and manager of the Ayers Lumber Company. I see Ray Holsomeback living in Birmingham. Since he is both rich and good-looking he can't decide on any one girl. I see Lorine Wilson teaching dancing lessons at Kennedy High School. I see Donald Savage riding the girls in a Cadillac. Ha has just won the Indianopolis 500 for the third straight year. I see Max Bobbit doodling sawdust at a certain sawmill. There are a couple of little curly-haired boys running around in the way. I see Elton Cooper in jail. He has just been caught boot- legging blackberry wine. I see Louise Gilreath before a cheering crowd. She has just won the Academy Award for an outstanding performance in one of her many movies. I see Paul Johnson now married and owner of a farm near Palmetto. He still grumbles at his wife occasionally. I see Evelyn Hollinger working as a professional model in New York City. I see Donald Cobb playing right halfback for the world champions, the Cleveland Browns. I see Jerry White as Chief of Police in Belk, Alabama. I see Remus Johnson playing the guitar in Elvis Presley's band. I see Jerry Carroll sitting at a typewriter. He is Sports Editor of the Tuscaloosa News. I see Della Marr Aldridge working at Lamar Manufacturing Co. She is having to keep up her lazy husband. I see Ervin Cash with a towel around his neck, holding a medicine kit. He is manager for the Crimson Tide. I see Jeanette Crowley keeping house for her husband and eight children. She is a wonderful wife and mother. I see Robert Crowley riding a Farmall tractor. He is one of the county's top cotton producers. I see Kathleen Rushing working as a spy for the F. B. I. I see Rosa Lea Gilreath counting the money her husband is making working at Bosch's. I see Barbara Jones living in a fine mansion overlooking Vernon. I see Curtis Porter teaching mathematics at Belk Jr. High. I see Roy Dean Johnson the owner and operator of Kennedy Motor Company. I see Fred Graham as the owner of a large line of trucks. I see Betty Sue Smith as the private secretary to the Governor of Alabama. I see Jeanette Owens as a Private First Class in the W. A. C. I see Mrs. McAdams batting her brains out teaching History at Kennedy High School. I see William Davis as a hermit, since he couldn't get any- one to marry him.
