As I ait hare alone looking into the great crystal ball of time I aee something that is very important. What is important? Whyl None other than the future of the seniors of '5i+. Sh-------; listen as I reveal to you what each of them are doing. I see Wynene Moore happily married to Jerry Jones over in Paducah, Kentucky, with a couple of little Joneses running around. Pat Cline always wanted to marry, but couldn't, so she is doing the next best thing. She is housekeeping for Mrs. Johnson-----eh---that is Stillman's mother. I see DeLloyd Leonard, now happily married, living on his farm at Pernbank. I see Lydia Prater now a happily married housewife. She is taking good care of the boy she married, who's Just back from Korea. Clemmle Boa is now happily married, to a successful business man, of course they have about four kids now. I see Stillman Johnson working at a good job in Cardova, Ala. I always wonder- ed why he headed straieht for Cardova. Could it be a pretty little blackhead? Herman Foster is now a General in the Army, he plans to serve 20 years in the Army, so he can lay around the rest of his life. I see Pervy Carroll a happily married man, very successful in business. You read in the papers about a high ranking Air Porce officer, it is Arlie Poster, but every chance he gets he heads straight for Kennedy, wonder why???? I see Franklin Cash now married to someone from Kennedy I think, anyway he is a big General in the Army. I see Noel Carroll working at the rubber plant in Tuscaloosa, but he takes a lot of time off for bird hunting. I see Jack Crowley working at a good Job over in Kentucky, driving one of those sporty looking cars around. I see Crawford McDaniel now a traveling salesman, he rides through Kennedy pretty often in his big car. I see Harlon Johnson still an old bachelor working as partners with his daddy on his farm. I see Dan Tomlin living at Caladonia with his sweet wife and working at the Air Base at Columbus. I see Marie Owens as a airline hostess engaged to the pilot of a B-36 Gladys Poster is now engaged to Benard Leonard. No, wait a minute she has broken her engagement and is married to Jask Crowley. I see Evelyn Bradford married to Jackie Anderson. They are living with her father on his dairy farm, of course, they have three small Andersons toddling around at Evelyn heels. C. B. Lindsey is living over at the end of the Farm Road between Kennedy and Vernon. He still coon hunts a little when his wife will let him. Tommy McDaniel is in the National Guard but he takes a few days off every now and then and comes home so he can go see a certain nurse who works in the Jeffersor-Hillman Hospital. I see Junior Newman now as Captain of the National Guard at Fayette. I also think he is engaged to Deanne Goodwin. Billy Stembridge has now taken over the Kennedy City Service Fuel Company and is doing a good Job. I see Benard Leonard as Road Commissioner of Lamar County living with his father and mother. He is also engaged to a girl at Columbus. Richard Moore is now married to a little Caudle girl that lives at Fayette and is living with her sister and his brother, who has been married for several years. He is working as a mechanic. Perry Porter is now Dean of Men at the University of Alabama. Artus Lee Newman is now playing basketball for the University of Alabama. Cliiss llisliiiv In 19 2, what is now the Seniors, started to school here at Kennedy. That year will be long remembered by our first grade teacher. Miss Angelyn Johnson. There were forty-six members in the first grade. The six elemetary grades went by slowly. During the first six years our class slowly decreased. ’When we graduated from elementary grades we had thirty- two members in our class, only six of the orginal class that entered the first grade were still together. When we entered the seventh grade in 'l|.8 we had to accustom ourselves to the way of High School life. We still remember Miss Inez Douglas, our home room teacher, who gad a diffcult time in getting us started in high school. In the seventh grade, we was glad to welcome four new members. Tommy McDanies, Lydia Prater, Pat Cline, Clauzell Howton. During the eighth grade we welcome Wynene Moore and H arlon Johnson. We were sorry to lose Olivia ffobbitt and Olen Aldridge. In our Freshman year more privileges came by our way. The girls began to take Home Economics and the boys taking Agriculture. The girls learned the fundamentals of sewing, and cooking, while the boys were taking up the business of farming and raising cattle and hogs. This year we lost from our class Ruby Nell Stripling, Elizabeth Richerson and Francis Cook. We were glad to welcome Glady Foster, Kenneth Edwards, Pervy Carroll in our class but lost Clauzell Howton and Francis Coats. We looked forward to our Junior year very much. We was very glad to have Mr. Jack D. Allen as our sponsor. Under the leardship of Mr. Allen we pre- sented our first drama, entilled Baseful Bertie . Another event more import- ant was our Junior-Senior Prom, with an impressive theme Hawaii . At last in the fall of 5 3 we became what we have been working after for twelve years,Senior. This year we are very fortunate to have Mrs. Fred Rechards as our sponsor. Through our years in school our journey was sometimes hard but was always filled with fun and laughter. We the Senior Claie hereby dedicate our last will and testiment to the students of Kennedy High School. Crawford McDaniel leaves his arguing with the teachers to Donald Gilliam. To Lefoy Gilliam, Pervy Carroll leaves his ability to get married. Billy Stembridge leaves his place at fullback to Max Bobbitt, if he can fill it, which is doubtful. Dan Tomlin leaves his halfback position to Jimmy Holsonback, also his preaching to Joe Moore. DeLloyd Leonard leaves his B average to Mary Evelyn Wright. To Harvey Collins, Noel Carroll leaves his ability to play basketball. Gladys Foster leaves her secret of getting along with the men to Mary Jo Porter. To Mozeil Carroll, Marie Owens leaves her place as prettiest girl in the senior class. C. B. Lindsey leaves his bragging to Sid Holliman. Tommy McDaniel says that he just wants to leave. To Joe Moore, Stillman Johnson leaves his position at tackle. Richard Moore leaves his map of Fayette to Britt Duke. To Rachel Long, Clemmie Nelson leaves her way of bossing the class. Hermon Foster leaves his ability to keep quiet in class to Jimmy Holsonback. Jimmie Porter leaves his ability to talk teachers out of work to Glen Holsonback. Harlon Johnson leaves his knowledge of love making to Colon Cork. Perry Porter leaves his ability to any one that can fill his place at manager. To Laudeen Owens, Lydia Prater leaves her lesson on love” Benard Leonard leaves his position at right halfback to Jerry Moore. Wynene Moore leaves her place as head-cheerleader to Carol Ann Taylor. Pat Cline leaves her flirting to Faye Bhnnicutt.. To Ray Vice, Jack Crowly leaves his place at tackle also his cheating ability to Jimmy Holsonback. Evelyn Bradford leaves her place as Mis3 Kennedy High School to Faye Hunnicutt and her wise cracks in class to Eleanor Faulkner. Artus Lee Newman leaves his ability to play basketball to Grafton Sparks. Junior Newman leaves his ability on how to get a woman to Bobby Crowley. Arlie Foster wants to carry all his wise-crack3 and abilities with him . To Glen Holsonback, Franklin Cash leaves his ability of quietness in class. 1 s □ Tat M a eat osu e N at st 6 e W tfcl est Most i n. Loye. The West Alabama Coaches and Officials Associations met for their annual banquet in Winfield. Among those prasent were our honorary captains—Stillman Johnson and Billy Stembridge—Mr. Hayes—Coach Carpenter. After the meal. Secretary Sam Richman counted the votes and announced Kennedy the winner. This was another Tribute to Coach Carpenter who for five years has taken a small group of boys and made a fine team and had a fair- ly successful season each year. This is also a tribute to the entire school and supporters. We also rated eighth place in the state in football games this year.
