THE SOUND OF MUSIC If you like the sight of brass and steel meeting with human breath or flesh pounding on ebony and ivory keys, then the band room is the place to be. You can find so much talent in that one room that it would amaze you. Senior Ramon Gooden, one of the many talented musicians in the jazz band states, I've been playing instruments since I was born. I remember having a drum set that my parents bought me when I was little, and ever since then, I've kept on learning how to play new instruments. I enjoy playing because it's fun and I want to make a lot of money. Three of my most favorite musicians include Prince, James Brown, and George Clinton. Some students may not be able to play as many instruments as Ramon, but they all have the same capability. Senior Trina Gaines states, I play the piano and the base guitar. I've played since I was five years old. Trying to meet deadlines!! Taking pictures, and making sure that they'll fit your layouts!! These are a few of the worries that go with designing a yearbook section. Each part of the book should be filled with creativity and originality, just enough so that you can distinguish it from any other one. To top it off at the end, does everything work!! You busily arrange your layouts and work and work. Finally, you think that you've finished e but something goes astray!! You find that someone from another section has been holding pictures that need to go into your section!! What are you to do now?? Of course, this is natural with any yearbook staff. Frustrations and heartbreaks come with the territory. As a staff member you do your job of redoing the part of the book you're responsible for. And, in the end you see the result and realize that it was all well worth it!!! - Nicole Patterson
