Washington Memorial On Friday November 25, 1987 the City of Chicago lost a great man, Mayor Harolc' Washington. He was taken from us during the beginning of his second term. The news of his death stunned a city preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday. A memorial service was held in the schools on the following Monday. The John F. Kennedy choir sang in tribute to the mem- ory of our mayor. The band played under the direction of band master, Mr. Louis Ricci. The principal, Earl Bryant remembered the accomplishments of the mayor and led a prayer. The auditorium was filled with many saddened teachers and students honoring the memory of the late Mayor Harold Washington, a truly great man. C ,Y ?
