It was a success in that it made the Freshmen more aware of all the club activities and sports so that more people joined clubs this year. Club members gave information to the visiting Freshmen in the gym and auditorium. The winners of the display competition in the auditorium were: lst. place, Spanish Clubglleftl 2nd, place, The Kennedy Playersgfbelowl and 3rd, place, Band. The winners in the gym were: lst. place, Majorettesg 2nd .place, Volleyball, and 3rd.place, Softball. Special thanks to Miss Nolan, for organizing this special day. 2-The Drama Club's display. JQWZZAQS Qfmazff rf mf zgf xlvfisf Mr. Earl Bryant, our principal, enjoys his job very much. He especially likes the students and faculty, and rates Kennedy as one of the best high schools in the country. He graduated from Tilden High School and went to Chicago Teachers College, University of Michigan, Ohio State University and Roosevelt University. He majored in education and administration. He had a very good education and had experiences as a teacher, coordinator, assistant principal, director and an elementary principal before coming to Kennedy. He was also involved in the Urban Teacher Corps and Teacher Training Program. His advice to students is, whatever you choose to be, be committed to it. Give it one hundred percent. If you're not willing to give one hundred percent, then don't take the job. Picture 1-Mr. Bryant congratulates the Science Fair winner. jzfpergowffmzs To mme J THE BEARS THE HONEY BEARS 1 84 Events AND THE REFRIGERETTES! b5Ovi' L,Q,0m6,n g ,,... 5 l On January ennedy celebrated Super Bow in a special way. A pep rally was held in the auditorium and the special guests were the Refrigerettes. These VERY lovely girls cheered and displayed their talents. Our own cheerleaders and majorettes posed as the Honey Bears and sang the Bear's Fight Song. The Crusader athletes acted as the Bears and did the Super Bowl Shuffle. The audience became so excited that they begged for an encore. The Bears shuffled once more. The pep rally was a complete success, and a great deal of credit is due to Miss Katherine Nolan for organizing the assembly, and to Mr. Patrick J. Butler for announcing. All of the cheering and praying paid off when the Bears beat the New England Patriots 44 to 10. Pic 1: I'm just here to do the Super Bowl Shuffle 2: The Frig shows off his muscles.
