Q I i MW . ,, , .WM 1 131 f H- f as if m- Flin 4 : H513 The Future Homemakers of America and Hero class held a Christmas party at Kinzie Elementary School for the deaf children's department. Two years ago HERO held the same type of event. The day was celebrated with eating, drinking and visiting with Santa Claus and his elves. James 0'Kane acted as Santa and Debra Miller, Cheryl Vimarco, Holly Finnstrom, Mary Timmons, Dawn Dante and Mrs. Javerlyn Foster were the elves. The FHA prepared cookies and cupcakes in class. They also gave the children cards and candy canes. Although the children could not hear, and the members of the FHA did not know sign language, a special type of communication existed between the groups. This communication was giving and loving. Q? Z4 Mm! On December 13, the Spanish Club and Spanish classes, along with Senora Gloria Benford, presented the International Festival. Students and parents attended this fiesta of ethnic food and entertainment. Pinates made by the students were on display in the library. All members of the Spanish Club dressed in folk costume for entertainment. Also some extra entertainment was provided by Jorge Carreras, an authentic marachi singer. Pictures: 1-Mr. Carr-eras entertains with his authentic music. 2- want some punch? 3- We are the World! 4-who are our new freshmen? 5- Porfirio poses for the camera. 6-Julie and Susie, aren't they cute?

The Cotillion is a very memorable dance, but because of the poor attendance, this dance is soon to be a lost and forgotten tradition.
