Robert A. Schmidt, Principal Trenton State College. B.S. Rutgers University, M.Ed. College of William tsl Mary. M.T.S. 41 Richard Smith Vice Principal, Duquesne University. B.Ed. University of Pittsburgh, M.Ed. Temple University ' Joseph Katin Assistant Principal I. Fordham University. B.A.. M.A. Montclair State College, Glassboro State College William A. Kettrick Assistant Principal Il. Kings' College, A.B. Villanova University, M.Ed. Glassboro State College 'ili A L W 35 vm PRINCIPALS Dear Graduates, You have a tremendous task ahead of you. Com- pleting your basic education and leaving the hallowed halls of John F. Kennedy, as marked by your gradu- ation or commencement, is in reality the beginning of your adult life-a life that should be full of good deeds. a wholesome life-one that will make a very worthwhile contribution to improving mankind in his inter-relationship with each other. I ask that each and every one of you, during every moment of your life, strive toward the building of a genuine sense of community in our great country. Genuine community requires compassion, the proper use of our natural resources, helping thy neighbor, fol- lowing the Golden Rule. The physical community has been thrust upon us-genuine community will require a human achievement. Its achievement will not be easy, for too many believe it is more fun to hate than to love. You are living in a society of variety. Help make it work. Be tolerant of people with widely differing abili- ties and find joy in helping them all move forward at their optimum pace. Find happiness and fulfillment, not in power-in domination-in self-destructive greed and materialism-but in helping others to find value in their lives. Strive for a goal that is more satisfying than affluence, more humane than peace and class strife and more decent that self-indulgence. Don't forget the lessons of the past. The great find- ings ofthe last 4,000 years, of which the United States is the heir, are as real and relevant to our immediate situation as any modern method or recent invention. To contrive to break-up the continuity of history, and to .fancy that in fundamental matters we can start all over again, is the greatest possible error. If you are to be condemned, be condemned for doing something rather than for doing nothing. But in doing, live by the Ten Commandments. The power they will give you will make your part of the genuine community. Work for a society based on real justice, sincerity and brotherhood. Robert A. Schmidt

Elmer F. Corda Mr. Thomas Dietz Assistant Superintendent Business Administrator Assistant to Superintendent for Research and Development The administration of John F. Kennedy High School is headed by Mr. Schmidt. On his shoulders has fallen the awesome responsibility of maintaining a standard of educa- tion under adverse conditions. He has guided us through a year of double sessions and inadequate facilities, as well as philosophical differences. We are greatly indebted to him for conducting our school effectively and demonstrating the true qualities of leadership. We acknowledge Mr. Schmidtis accomplishments in directing our administration during an extremely difficult period. We wish to thank our guidance counselors for helping stu- dents to strive for their goals. The counselors at J.F.K. are always willing to offer advice and are available at all times for personal conferences. They assist us in selecting courses and graciously accept the blame for confused schedules. They give us vocational guidance and prepare us for higher education. We commend those members of our faculty who are dedi- cated to the educational process in spite of overcrowded conditions at J.F.K. Although they are faced with reduced class hours and staggered schedules they remain committed to the concept of learning. These teachers are always ready for discussion and open to inquiry. ln addition to their teaching responsibilities, they are called upon to act as advi- sors, sponsors of extra-curricular activities, and as hall moni- tors. Their endeavors and tribulations have not gone without notice. ing: Mr. Allen C. Denning, Mr. Edward J. McGinnis Jr.. Mr, Octavious T, Reid Jr, Sealed' Mr. Robert A. Reynoldes, Dr. Bruno F.
