HOIVIECOIVIING '71 One of the biggest events of the Ken- nedy football season, and in fact ofthe whole school year, is Homecoming. Her- alded by K-week, it's climaxed by the big Homecoming game and finished oil by the crowning of the queen at the homecoming dance. This year all the Homecoming activi- ties were co-ordinated by Karen Supplee, the chairman of the Homecoming Com- mittee. She and the committee spent many hours planning and organizing the many events. 5, iv , M During K-week the halls become a museum of school spirit, each corridor decorated by a dilTerent class, all com- peting for top honors. This year the hall decorations were under the supervision of Barb Skenadore, and the senior hall, directed by Larry Donahue, won the competition. K-week ends on Friday night with a huge pep rally and bonfire.

The Pep Club, sponsored by Student Council, has the avid sports fans as its members, and acts as Kennedy's ambassadors uabroadw. The Varsity Club needs no explanation, it consists of those letter- winning athletes. Its most memorable event was its massive cushion sale last year to earn money to buy a universal gym for the school.

Saturday is the big game, with a special halftime show in which the band performs, and the final candidates for Homecoming Queen are announced. Then there is the Homecoming Parade in which classes and clubs enter original iloats. Bruce Nicholson took charge of the parade, in which the Hoat competition was won by the Junior Class. Finally, Saturday night brings the Homecoming Dance, which was orga- nized through the efforts of Linda Runk. lt is here that the 1970 Homecoming Queen, Kay Corley, re- ceived her crown, and so end the festivities for an- other year. l 105
