As our high school days quickly come to an end, it is time for us, the Class of '67, to take a minute and redect upon some of the memorable moments we spent at Kennedy High. Some of our memories will be happy, some will be sad, but there are a few worthy of notice. Six years ago we were seventh graders at Levittown High School. That year was the year of the twenty piece marching band without uniforms and the football team that could barely win a game. Our class did manage, however, to visit the Civil War battlefield at Gettysburg. Since that time we have watched our school and our world change and grow, and each of us has been a part of the change. Upon reaching eighth grade some of us found ourselves exiled to the Junior School, while the rest remained in the high school as punky 8-9ersf' Our Hrst Latin American exchange students arrived during the winter. By ninth grade we were back at the high school again. Janie Le Cates served as class president during this year of several firsts for the school. Scarlet and Navy Night was initiated and also the first inter-class drama competition. That was also the year of the big H-wing flood, the Gryphon painted on the floor, and the combined homeroom-hrst period. President John F Kennedy was assassinated. Finally tenth grade arrived, and the school was renamed John F. Kennedy High School. For the first time we weren't the youngest in the school. Cathy Breen was elected president and under her direction we succeeded in getting our memorable trip to the World's Fair. This was the year of the first Student Council Carnival, Bermuda Day, and the hrst Youth in Government Program. Eleventh grade was a year of change. We moved into a brand new school after several enjoyable months of split sessions. Cathy Breen was re-elected president, and we sponsored the second Junior-Senior Party. Our football team won the South Jersey Championship that year, and several members of our class were selected to participate on the television program, lt's Academic. This year also saw the advent of the student lunch strike. Now our year as mighty seniors is rapidly coming to a close. For many, this was the biggest and best year of all. Under the leadership of Dave Kerrins we held the hrst all-senior prom at the Rickshaw Inn. We all remember our great Splash Party at Olympia Lakes and our fabulous trip to Washington, D. C., where we visited the Capitol, the White House, the Smithsonian Institute, and Arlington Cemetery, paying tribute to the man for whom our school was named, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Dave Kincaid headed Student Council and with him we saw the success of many school activities. The senior boys cheering section was started and our basketball team won their first tournament game. Soon we will bid farewell to KHS forever, as we walk down the aisle to receive our diplomas. Wherever we are, whatever we do in future years, sometimes we'll think about our experiences at Kennedy High School, and hope we are better human beings because of them.
