Dedication We, the Senior Class, Annual Staff, and pupils of Kennedale High School Wish to dedicate this the '54 issue of the Kennedale Kat with love and admiration to Miss Janie Sheppard and Mr. Otto Lockee. We wish to express our deepest feeling for two wonderful teachers and excellent athletic coaches. Miss Sheppard is not only a teacher but also a good friend whom we can depend upon for anything. Because of her sympathetic understanding, her cheerfulness, her experienced leadership, she has endeared herself to us. H Mr. Lockee a real Christian character, has high ideals. His helpfulness, his friendly advice, and his humbleness have rnade him an ideal for the students in Kennedale High School to try to follow.

Superintendent? Message The 1953-54 school year at Kennedale High marks the beginning of a new era for many of us especially for this graduating class. Although the difficulties of the year have been many, We instructors have gain- ed inspiration and a certain degree of satisfaction from the individual progress you have made. Seniors, may I say to you and the remainder of the student body, that the pur- suit of a good education is a noble and a worthy undertaking but it alone is insuffi- cient. ltis my hope and the prayer of my heart that each of you will find his place of service in life--for life is a God given privilege and should not be taken for granted. May the divine hand be the light of your path and the anchor of your soul.
