WEBB We, the class of 1956, dedicate this edition of THE' FAWN to our principal and friend, Eldon S. Webb, who has guided us during the four years that Ken- nard-Dale has been growing and improving and who has worked in our commun- ity during the past eleven years as a teacher, administrator, church and civic leader. Through his tireless efforts and sacrificial service, Mr. Webb has contributed to the progress of our school. He has always been willing to lend a helping hand and to offer assistance wherever it has been needed. By dedicating this book to Mr. Webb, we hope to express our gratitude and appreciation for the cooperation he has given us during the four years of our high school careers. ' 0 I I Hfmcwhdffw fw Dear Seniors: Each year as graduation nears, I observe among the seniors, a happiness and a sat- isfaction that comes with the completion of a task well done. I share with you in your rejoicing at this time, and yet, I do so with some regret. You have attended Kennard-Dale High School four years, and during this time, you have worked cooperatively with the teachers and me. Not only have you com- pleted the assignments required of the teachers, but upon your own initiative you have contributed of your own time, effort, and enthusiasm toward making Kennard-Dale an alma mater of which you can be justly proud. Then, too, through four years of association I have learned to know many of you well. Therefore, it is with a note of sadness that I think of your graduating and leaving Kennard- Da-le. Thomas Henry Huxley said, 'The rung of a ladder was never meant to rest upon, but only to hold a man,s foot long enough to enable him to put the other somewhat higherf, Your graduation in only a rung in this ladder. Don't rest upon your present accomplishment when you leave, but put the knowledge that you have gained at Kennard-Dale to tasks that are challenging, and success will be yours. Eldon S.
