CLASS Two groups boarded buses of education, September, 1949, heading for separate schools, yet soon to be united as one class. Leading the Delta Class on their ride was Nancy McElwain, President, Ann Zimmer- man, Vice-President, Beverly Asbury, Secretary, and joan Reitz, Treasurer. They did a good job of steer- ing them through a trip to Conawingo Dam, hayrides and record hops. Raymond Bond, President, Blakely Eyster, Vice-President, Richard Fix, Secretary, Mildred Blevins, Treasurer, and Loretta Wolfe, Historian, were elected leaders of the Stewartstown Freshman Class. This group journeyed to Harrisburg as a class trip and enjoyed it very much. Other stops were at Stewarts- town High School for a Get-Acquainted Party with the rest of the high school, and a Christmas Party. Once again in SO , each group entered the sopho- more bus, closer to being united. A Hershey trip and dances were directed by Delta's officers-Gene Wagner, Presidentg Eleanor Hushon, Vice-President, David Allen,- Secretary, and Nancy McElwain, Treasurer. Blakely Eyster, President 5 Billy joe Allen, Vice-Presi- dent, Faye Almoney, Secretary, Sharon Cooper, Treas- urerg and Loretta Wolfe, Historian, were elected to lead the Stewartstown class through Philadelphia and Washington. Other stops were skating parties and dances. A rumor was running through the junior bus in 1951 that these two classes would be united and would be the first graduating class of a new consolidation, Kennard-Dale High School. .Ioan Reitz, President, Ed Garvine, Vice-President, Eleanor Hushon, Secretary, and Eugene Wagner, Treasurer, were the drivers through Delta's junior year. Patty Miller, President, Blakely Eyster, Vice-President, Sarah Kaufman, Secre- tary, Faye Almoney, Treasurer, and Betty Lou Taylor, Historian, conducted the bus for the Stewartstown junior Class. Each class, not knowing it, was now doing the same things-going on a trip to Gettysburg, sponsoring a Prom, getting those wonderful class rings -these joys were shared by both classes. Although Delta's class was unable to have a class play, the Stew- artstown class presented a play, Desperate Ambrose . Each class contributed much to the buses of sports, cheerleading and other extracurricular activities. Now came the big trip for both classes. The buses headed toward a new high school, Kennard-Dale. Many adjustments were to be made and jean Hint, President, David Allen, Vice-President, Sharon Cooper, Secretary, Nancy McElwain, Treasurer, Donald Green, Historian, conducted the trip as the senior officers. The class sold fruit cakes, vanilla, Christmas wreaths, and pen- cils to help the expenses of the New York trip. Stopping at the gymnasium, the class presented the play Willie's Weekend. After one big trip to New York City, the last stop was graduation. By this time each member of the class had realized the importance of Kennard-Dale High School. HISTORY V
